@aschemanske We came back to the game for about 5 months and the pace of place is a REAL problem. The newer players plat seriously slow and judges don't have the time to speed them up.

No shade on the people who do it, because at this point it’s a disadvantage not to and it’s clearly not getting punished. I will, however, never do the long search myself as I don’t personally believe it should be permissible.

It’s horrifying how normalized 2+ minutes searches have become. No, the rules do not allow it, and for whatever reason it has become the norm to let it slide. In a 50 minute bo3 match, 2 minutes each in 3 games is almost 25% of the entire match time. That’s just not good.

I understand the concerns about time constraints at regionals, but ICs are three days long, there's time for extra rounds (even keeping Sunday for only the finals). Basically I feel like we're sacrificing quality of tournaments for logistical reasons to an unreasonable extent.

We've talked about this a lot but right now I'm really feeling the annoyance of having a reduced number of rounds compared to last seasons. At NAIC I went 6-1-2 in day 1 but I was able to make it to top cut by going 6-0 in day 2. Today I'm 6-1-2 and already out of top cut.
