The Kenyan Techie

I am somewhere at friend's place for the weekend and I carried my mac with me. So plugging to the socket and my laptop is suddenly feeling weird at somepoint its like I got shocked on some part of my arm. If I unplug the charger all good. I know its earthing missing here in this houses. If I lived here I would tell the caretaker to replay to the landlord that there is a problem with their power connection. Seems like I won't do much typing while here. Nkt!

AI has made everyone an expert, even the quacks, especially in the tech space. Just saying.

It's really the small things in life that matter. Are you healthy? Do you have family? Friends to invite over? Work that stretches you? That's being truly rich.

The reason why the Kenyan tech scene will be overtaken by, if not already, by such countries as Nigeria and SA is we hate on each other A LOT. We don't support local products, we criticize juniors building in public without any meaningful feedback, juniors lack senior role models or mentors to follow steps in, and seniors collaboration is in the bin. We are so individualistic and lack the community mentality which is vital for growth of the whole tech scene. I don't mind criticism of bad products, but it would be better if it is from a point of improvement rather than hate and pure jelousy. We are in the bins.

For once, I'm unable to defend my upper hill based matriarch. There's a lot that goes on during this ELP pre-university internship. It's either you become a great founder or a very polite over compliant employee. I'm happy that you're not on the majority side.
