Children are the vector through which progressives try to prove the legitimacy and righteousness of their reconfiguration of the natural order of things Christians have always been on the front lines against the objectification and exploitation of kids. This fight is just as needed now as it was in the ancient pagan days of child sacrifice. Our culture still sacrifices children on the altar of our gods: the gods of “progress,” of convenience, of pleasure, of power, and of self. Today pro-abortion reporter @JessicaValenti ran a story about @StudentsforLife endorsing S. 1095 in South Carolina, which includes misdemeanor penalties for women who willfully have abortions. Because @JessicaValenti is a consistently sloppy reporter and @StudentsforLife was unclear about their stance, she incorrectly reported that they now support full abortion criminalization. But a @StudentsforLife executive said in a separate statement that they will only support S. 1095 if the misdemeanor provision, which only allows two years in prison for women who have abortions, is amended out of the bill. This dynamic should offer a valuable lesson to leaders of @StudentsforLife and other pro-life groups who constantly have an eye toward how the pro-abortion side views them. No matter how moderate you try to seem, you will always be portrayed by pro-abortion zealots like @JessicaValenti as extremist bigots who want women to suffer and die without the supposed right to murder their own preborn babies. Since this is the case, why not simply be consistent and courageous in your stand against abortion, instead of constantly sticking your finger in the air and fearing the voters more than God?

The moral problem with gay adoption/surrogacy is very similar to the moral problem with abortion — both put the desires and choices of adults above the needs, rights, and well-being of children. It's not any more complicated than that.
