@prapaarr Ah yes, the usual selective revisionism where decades of armed militancy, internal purges, assassinations, and rigid authoritarian control magically get reframed as a ‘noble struggle’ the moment you squint hard enough

@RooftopTiger That logic cuts both ways. Sinhalese can oppose Tamil extremism or separatist politics without hating Tamils or Hinduism. Yet that nuance is denied to them. If one side’s distinction is valid, the other’s must be too or admit the double standard. 🤡

Our suicidal empathy will have us giving our enemies the rope with which they hang us. Self-harming is a mental disorder to be treated, not a virtue to be celebrated. They may be anon profiles but honest expressions of what many Sinhalese are thinking.
Aingkaran Kugathasan@AingkaranK

Tamils are against Sinhala-Buddhist chauvinism and state oppression, not against Sinhalese people or Buddhism. Most ordinary people understand this. Sadly, many still fall for lies, hate, and division spread by cowards hiding behind fake profiles.

@EmperorAurangz1 You sound utterly deluded. Calling Sri Lanka’s condemnation of the LTTE’s child soldiers “whining” is nonsense when the UN itself documented it. That isn’t anti-Tamil it’s basic reality. Stop rewriting history just because it doesn’t suit your narrative.🤡

Sri Lankan police forces forcibly dismantled the tents and assaulted peaceful EelamTamil protesters who were demonstrating against the construction of the Thaiyiddi Buddhist Vihara on land that historically belonged to EelamTamils—an act of Sinhala genocidal colonization. Despite the cyclone and the ongoing natural disaster, the Sri Lankan state is continuing to carry out structural genocide against EelamTamils in Tamileelam. #DitwahCyclone Canadian prime minister @MarkJCarney Foreign minister - @AnitaAnandMP High commissioner for Canada in srilanka @IsaboMartin @30sec2remember @heritage_tamil

@Sanjeevan172 These stateless Eelam extremists dress up their bitterness as “activism,” but everyone knows it’s just another attempt to revive a failed separatist dream. Their agenda collapsed years ago they just haven’t caught up with reality. 🤡#deadEelam #srilanka

Sri Lanka’s president immediately visited an uninhabited island after one line in a speech from an unelected Indian actor/politician. Why hasn’t he once visited the island’s second largest mass grave after months of excavations uncovered over 200 bodies, including of infants?

@gayaradesilva Sri Lanka’s policing flaws are real tone, professionalism, respect must improve. But society isn’t innocent either. Indiscipline fuels heavy handed policing. Truth is simple: better citizens create better policing, and better policing creates better citizens

Listen to the first 6 seconds. Our police need to learn how to speak to civilians. Tone matters in policing. Firmness and authority are necessary, but condescension or talking down to civilians erodes trust. Show no leniency where it’s not due, yes. But speaking down to people? No. This isn’t an isolated case - it happens too often. When police don’t show mutual respect, it creates a deeper societal problem. Authority should be firm, but it should also be respectful and inspiring. Power should inspire, not belittle. @anuradisanayake @BimalRathnayake @NalindaJay @Dr_HariniA hope you can bring this culture of mutual respect too into our policing too 🫱🏾‍🫲🏽

@Thusi_Kumar Prabhakaran wasn’t a hero he was a parasite who bled his own people dry, a terrorist who crowned himself ‘saviour’ while hiding behind children. He didn’t die a martyr. He died a coward, dragged from the mud, leaving behind only shame and ashes.

A 24 hour ceasefire in the midst of a genocide. The smallest of reprieves from the massacres. And 16 years later, it’s still used to further Sinhala nationalist interests. War criminals are still out here trying to outcompete each other. What progress has been made?
NewsWire 🇱🇰@NewsWireLK

“Mahinda Rajapaksa announced a ceasefire between January 31 and February 1, 2009, when the Security Council strongly objected to it,” Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has made a series of explosive claims about the final stages of the war, accusing former President Mahinda Rajapaksa of attempting to delay military victory against the LTTE.

Today, I met with the @UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, @volker_turk, at the Presidential Secretariat. We discussed the deep pain felt by our people in the North and in the South about the disappeared. I reaffirmed our commitment to national unity and reconciliation as well as to overcoming the economic challenge Sri Lanka is faced with. Mr. Türk appreciated the political and social transformation happening in the country and extended his support to ensure national unity and reconciliation in Sri Lanka alongside the programme carried out by the Government to protect human rights.

@TEGP__ Another day, another propaganda piece. The cycle continues events twisted to stoke division and play victim. This isn’t about peace or resistance, it’s about weaponizing symbols to fuel a separatist narrative. Enough with the manufactured outrage.

@colombolumban @j18384191117 @_outisk So you glorify Pakistan’s path a nation torn by extremism, coups, and collapse? You cry victim while ignoring the LTTE’s reign of terror. Federalism isn’t a cover for hate. Peace isn’t built by carving borders with blood. Grow up from this delusion of division.

@TheLankanLens @_outisk Calling Tamil resistance and Sinhala-Buddhist extremism the same is a lie. One arose from systemic oppression—language bans, pogroms, 100k+ troops in Tamil areas. The other enforces majoritarian rule. This isn’t symmetry. It’s state power vs survival.

@TheLankanLens @_outisk A homeland is an area where a people historically constitute themselves for a long period of time. Sri Lanka was never unified it was forcefully amalgamated by the British. The Northeast was a separate Tamil Kingdom. People who live there own it you idiot. lol.
