We were taught that whatever happens on the first night is something the husband decides, and the wife must accept, no matter if she’s sick, exhausted, or sharing a space with a complete stranger. Protection is often ignored because “it doesn’t feel good” for him. And then the burden falls on the woman to take emergency pills or go through abortions. Abortions are physically and emotionally painful, yet after going through that, a woman is still expected to get up and cook dinner like nothing happened, because apparently, that’s her responsibility. If she says no, she faces anger, pressure, or even violence. I do believe this generation is becoming more aware, more understanding. Consent matters. It always has. I was fortunate enough to walk away from that life, but there are still so many women silently suffering, trapped within it. And to those who defend this. just take a moment and truly ask yourself: is this right? Because these experiences leave permanent scars on a woman’s heart “scars that may never fully heal” #chiraiya
