@joshcirre Take a look at @usewintercms! Let me know if you have any questions or want some recommendations on getting started with it; it's deliberately basic out of the box with its true power & flexibility showcased by its incredibly powerful plugin & theming system 😉

I’m recording a video seeing what modern Wordpress actually looks like and how it compares to other options. Other than Ghost and Statamic, what other Wordpress alternatives should I look at from a developers perspective?

@jesseleite85 @BenhuraT @joshcirre The page just lists people that have received a Winter CMS Challenge coin (yours was #84; gave it to you at Laracon US 2023 for your contributions to Statamic as a fellow Laravel CMS developer 😂) Hope to see you in Denver at #LaraconUS again!

Between @statamic and @octobercms, which one have you used, and why do you prefer it over the other? I'm planning to use one of them for my next project and would love to hear your thoughts on which one is better and why.

@sir_brian_d Don't worry. You will be able to "detach" it for easier access (if you want to). But it will also be available in the site details view

@marcelpociot Recent code review of mine found a firstOrCreate used to avoid inserting duplicate data on a high traffic endpoint but wasn't using the returned value so was able to halve queries by just inserting and using the db constraints to avoid duplicates

I could use your help gathering some data for my upcoming Laracon EU talk. If you ever had a slow Laravel application/slow request/slow command/etc. - what was the reason for it? Would be great to get as many replies as possible. Please retweet for reach 🙂

@TheLukeTowers Thanks for this release! We're hoping for a closer cycle, even though I know that nothing is easy when you have to reconcile everything.

@_duncanmcclean @Jamesking56 @statamic @WordPress For my more technical projects I already use Laravel and Filament so I would love to have a good CMS system with Laravel as a backbone. And for me @statamic is the frontrunner on Laravel based CMS’s but still not able to satisfy my customers needs.

I think @statamic could potentially become the @WordPress replacement for people who are already used to Laravel for the bigger stuff

@PovilasKorop @usewintercms The main reason I went with Winter as the name despite it being my least favourite season is literally just because it was easy for me to use a snowflake svg generator to create the logo, and I needed a name and logo quickly to establish the project 😂

@tuarrep_dev @PovilasKorop Winter does support Laravel 11, it's on a separate branch and it's just waiting for me to finish 1.2.7 before releasing 1.3 😜

First random fact from Laravel CMS market. - Statamic and Twill: Laravel 11 - October CMS and Winter CMS (which is a fork of October): Laravel 9 In general, I realized that *proper* review of all those systems is much more complex than I thought. Will still find the angle.

@ssmusoke That was just the first impression, the first factor when installing. There will be obviously many more angles. But, judging from first impression, no Laravel CMS is even remotely close to WP ease of install and quick start. Looks like all Laravel CMSs were created for devs.

@PovilasKorop I don't know of any specific timelines but I know they actively work on the project so I imagine it's coming. From what I recall with our support for Laravel 11 it's not that big of an upgrade so it's probably more of a when it's asked for by enough people sort of situation.
