@WillHugall @horshamcc I agree about the openers, but we've had some very ropey batting performances over the years and Haines has great natural ability, so could've done a job lower down the order.

I think, unfortunately, Sussex have always had slightly more explosive options to open the batting. Salt, Wright, Head, Rizwan, MacLeod, Seifert, Philippe, Orr, Ward, Hughes - tough company! I think it’s still tough this year, to be honest. Hughes and Ward as starters, Clark, Alsop and Thomas all options there too. But Sussex do need to start planning for 2027 and beyond, so that could be a factor.

Farewell Dike and thank you. I was told before the season even started the club simply couldn’t risk keeping Dike on any longer with how his time here has gone injury wise. I genuinely wish him nothing but the best and really hope he can finally stay fit because there’s clearly still a player in there. Grant and Maja are seeing what else is available. On Imray we’re still in the race for him, but there’s serious competition for him. Wolves, Burnley and one German club are all very keen as things stand. #WBA

They don't have injury problems. That striker from Falkirk is rumoured to be at least 4m and he's an unknown. Strikers are expensive
