@TheMathsMagpie @EqualityUK @acasorguk Sometimes people collect this information for statistical purposes (for example, to check the distribution of gender among applicants for jobs). I think some Irish public bodies are encouraged to ask, but they information isn't given to the decision-making part of the process.

@HYWEL_ROBERTS I've just found my copy recently - couldn't agree more. I met him a few times and was always amazed that he remembered my name so I once asked him how ... and he said that he linked us all to famous people with the same name. Great guy ❤️
