In regard to Oilers trading Nurse.
Important to remember he has a full NMC. His wife gave birth to their third child a few days ago.
Agreeing to a trade now would cause significant upheaval to his wife and family. Totally understandable if he isn't interested right now.

I think people underestimate how difficult it is to switch from one to the other. Especially in the NHL and for a player who has never played forward. Much more to winger position than forechecking. He just needs to play better at the position he knows best.

@JasonGregor what about moving Nurse to the wing, his size and speed could be help the forcheck. Then they could bring in another 2nd pairing defenseman.

For all of those losing their minds over Canadian Conservatives calling for the prompt deportation of convicted foreign criminals: it’s the policy of the Swedish socialist government, for goodness sake.
Sometimes I’m astonished by how much of the Canadian commentariat can ramp itself into a moral panic over completely sensible, broadly supported ideas.
Like the idea that foreign nationals who have abused our generosity and broken our laws should be promptly removed.

This is the issue with the Oilers right now and it falls directly on management and above. The Oilers, IMO, have fumbled the ball when it comes to management hires. I am struggling to find confidence in Stan Bowman

The Oilers have $26.5m tied up in Jarry, Nurse, Frederic, Henrique, Mangiapane, and Janmark. That’s almost 28% of the cap. Find another “contender” with greater roster inefficiency. It’s not happening this year. Stand pat and make moving Nurse your singular summer purpose.
