@ajay_2512x This is the big problem in hiring Stage 2 and Stage 4. The person will be totally engaged with that company work and if in the end they reject that person, then it's waste of 2 weeks time.

Sooo yesterday’s post went a bit out of context, so a few things to clarify.... 1. I'm myself from a pvt college because I couldn't get a good percentile in JEE or even a good rank in BITS. Also, I wasn't able to get a decent rank in VIT and thus couldn't afford the category 3 fees, varna I would have maybe joined there myself if it was category 1. 2. I got into a decent pvt college in BLR only because of other factors. During 2022, the COMEDK counselling was continuously getting rescheduled and thus most of the students opted out of it, and because of that even at a low rank I got into a decent enough college. 3. My internship or even the tiny competitions that I participated in were all just me getting lucky and nothing else. 4. Now the post "Your tier3 isn't even eligible"... You getting into Google, MSFT, Amazon, Apple, or any other big tech is possible from any college and yeah, anyone can do it. But you breaking into the top quant firms isn't possible if you're not coming from a reputed university. 5. Why? Okay, so you require absolutely good mathematics to break in, this is the minimum requirement they've set. And yeah, JEE doesn't just depend on the Maths section and you've got full PCM to handle in it. But understand, if you were that intelligent enough, you would have excelled in the earlier half of your student life itself. The fact that you couldn't do that proves that you're not someone exceptional, and it's fine, most of us aren't. 6. Okay, another chance you get is in college, you've got 4 years in college to work hard and prove you can. But understand, the bar is still very high. Now you're not competing with secondary school students anymore, you're competing with the entire country for your spot in these firms. 7. Somehow you manage to work your ass off and yeah, maybe 1 of you gets into them, but understand when we say something it's rather targeted towards the masses and not the minority. 8. You'll be very motivated to study for a few weeks, but slowly that motivation dies and you're not able to continue with the same grind. 9. And then till final year you understand that you're just not capable of cracking these things. And this will surely happen with most students. 10. Even if you continue, ek point ke baad mental stress aap manage nahi kar paoge, and you'll just accept the reality. 11. Rather, chase things which are possible, which folks around you have aced in, jin cheezo ke liye you have guidance as well. What guidance are you getting if you ask "I am a tier 3 student, how can I crack HFT?" 12. The fact is jo asli mein crack karega usko yeh puchne ki need hi nahi hai, kyuki they know they'll just do it, baaki itna hi puch lo nahi ho payega. I think all this explains everything about that one post. And yeah, lately I've been getting a hell lot of DMs saying ki mera PPO reject ho jaye, FT offer na mile, to I'll just say this, even if I don't get the return offer, I'm never gonna come up with any excuses such as business requirements, blah blah, I'll take it that my performance wasn't good enough. I know maine kitna kaam kiya hai internship mein and still continuing to do so, but still if things don't work out I'm not gonna make any excuses. Baaki sab apna padhai kar lo acche se.
