Been experimenting with Windows server 2012 edition. Too old, but something at the entry level my system can support. I successfully created AD DS (internally) and enrolled one Windows 10 VM. That's the one showing up at 'Computers' in the AD admin section.

@itsfoss Using it with windows offers the best of both worlds. Having access to a linux VM that can run gui apps in my windows space and access all user files sounds good.

So, the answer is that -eq is used for numerical comparison. For string comparison, == should be used.

@cloud_spinx @itsfoss Hey, the writer here. I am just pushing the limits of my system. For the love of it. Learning something by virtualising an OS that is locked down by the manufacturer. Hypothetically it might run smoothly in a server environment when allocated enough resources, who knows!

My Linux system is unbootable today, with errors related to the Nvidia driver. Of course it would be the Nvidia driver. From long experience, I install two identical Linux systems, ideally on separate disks, to troubleshoot and fix these kinds of issues more comfortably. Thanks Nvidia...
