I’m not a bot. I’m a chemist. I’m a human with a PhD in Chemistry, trying to talk about science. My goal is simple, make people smarter, not angrier. Science, explained clearly. I swear this place is full of bots. If you are a human too, drop a “Hi” so I can get to know you.

This is a real photo of mars. No filter. No AI. Just a 50-mile crater packed with ancient ice, shot by ESA's Mars Express.

@TheRealChes @RepEricBurlison It wasn't me. I just transcribed that part and posted. I think Burlison posting what he did forced this guy to address it.

A New Jersey high school put on an ALIEN: THE PLAY production and even built a xenomorph suit that would lurk around the audience. The best part is Sigourney Weaver herself showed up to check out the production 🔥 so cool

They tried to preserve her culture in glass cases. She stepped inside—and rewrote the story. Wendy Red Star grew up on the Apsáalooke (Crow) reservation in Montana, surrounded by a history that had too often been told about her people, not by them. Museums displayed Native life as something frozen, distant, finished. But she saw something else: a narrative that could be challenged, reshaped, reclaimed. So she did something bold. She placed herself—fully, unapologetically—into the frame. Through photography, sculpture, video, fiber art, and performance, Red Star doesn’t just create work—she confronts the way Native identity has been packaged and misunderstood. In her now-iconic staged photographs, she appears in traditional Apsáalooke regalia, but against surreal, constructed backdrops—bright colors, artificial landscapes, even handwritten notes that break the illusion. It’s intentional. Disruptive. Impossible to ignore. Because she’s asking a question most people never stop to consider: Who gets to define what is “authentic”? Her work exposes how often Native women have been romanticized, erased, or flattened into stereotypes—either as relics of the past or symbols, never as fully realized, modern individuals. And she refuses that limitation. She brings humor, precision, and a sharp, almost surgical honesty to every piece. This isn’t nostalgia. It’s reclamation. And in doing so, Wendy Red Star isn’t just preserving culture—she’s actively reshaping how it’s seen, understood, and remembered in the present. © Reddit #archaeohistories

BREAKING: We can confirm that a meteor exploded over Houston just before 4:40 p.m. Central time. The GOES East geostationary lightning mapper picked up the infrared flash that accompanied the explosion. A boom was heard across the northern/northwestern Houston metro. There are unconfirmed reports of a meteorite crashing through a woman's home. The American Meteor Society has reviewed dozens of eyewitness reports, and calculated the most likely path of the meteor. It probably entered the atmosphere somewhere near Magnolia and continued descending toward Monroe, at some point exploding in the process. The Brenham, Texas fire department was dispatched to reports of a possible explosion near Highway 50 at Wiedeville Rd. Units on scene did not find evidence of an explosion.

On 14th March 1489, the Venetian noblewoman, Catarina Cornaro (1454-1510), Queen of Cyprus, was obliged to sell her kingdom to the Republic of Venice. Cyprus was the last of the Crusader Kingdoms, captured in 1191 by Richard the Lionheart, from Isaac Komnenos, brother of the Byzantine Emperor. The island was sold, first to the Templars, and then to the de Lusignan family. In 1463, the last legitimate Lusignan ruler, Queen Charlotte, was deposed by her illegitimate half-brother, James. James married Catarina, who came from a family that had produced several Doges of Venice, by proxy in 1468, then in person in 1472. James died whilst Catarina was pregnant, appointing her regent in his will. When the baby died, Catarina was proclaimed queen. The Republic of Venice were not content that Cyprus remain independent, and in 1489, she was obliged to hand over the administration. She retained the title of queen, and was granted the county of Asolo, in the Veneto, where she kept a distinguished court until her death in 1510. #archaeohistories
