@Bit_Faced Its controversial since increasing block size makes it difficult for plebs to run a node and maintain decentralization. Your previous post specifically cited nodes not being decentralized. Do you not see the inconsistency, incoherency, and contradiction in your arguments?

There is no question that BIP110 stems from the block size limit. Of course there isn't any room for jpegs. There isn't even any room for a fraction of global monetary transactions (which would require 17GB blocks at minimum). The entire problem is the 1MB limit. Lift the limit and spam is no longer an issue. This isn't even complicated and should never have been controversial. It was literally supposed to be *the* way to scale. Satoshi stated it explicitly (see below). The only reason to artificially cap the block size is if you don't want anyone to use Bitcoin.

@Bit_Faced Who cares? The market cap of Bitcoin hasn’t gotten large enough for Bitcoin to become the “global money”. That is a problem which can be addressed later, after the market cap reaches maybe $10 trillion. BCH has a larger block size, but how much of that blocksize is used?

Fred, you have no argument for BIP and keep mentioning quantum. Saylor has said Bitcoin quantum changes should wait until banks and large companies upgrade and we can copy the universal protocol that everyone is using. On the spam argument below: A 1 TB hardrive is super cheap and it will take like 10 years for it to fill it with blocks. Not to mention over time, hard drive space will get cheaper over time.

After a decade of blockspace fears and non-monetary-use panics, Bitcoin still has no spam problem. Fees are 1 sat/vB: anyone can move any amount globally with immediate processing for ~$0.30. The free market has always solved Bitcoin’s blockspace challenges. $BTC
