The team and I have spent the past several months analyzing feedback from the community. What came through was the voice of people who care deeply about Windows and want it to be better. Read this blog post to learn more about what we're doing in response as we look to raise the bar on Windows 11 quality. Please keep the feedback coming, to help us shape the future of Windows together. blogs.windows.com/windows-inside…

@BasicAppleGuy Black. Less of a distraction, and will hide grime better than a white keyboard. Those who have had to tend to fleets of laptops and keyboards know what I'm talking about!

Might be a bit of a deep cut here, but did anyone else use GetRight or any other "download manager" back in the day?

@cyber_razz Wow. At some places I have worked, that would raise serious red flags - the employee might not pass probation.

I watched a new hire set up access to a Linux server. He opened a terminal. He typed ssh-keygen. He pressed Enter for the default location. He pressed Enter for a blank passphrase. He pressed Enter again to confirm. He then typed ssh-copy-id user@server. He typed his password. He was done. I asked him if he enjoyed generating tickets for the security team or just hated having a secure backup. He looked confused and said that's how he always did it. I asked him if he knew what a passphrase was for. He said it was annoying to type. I told him that without a passphrase, his private key is just a text file. If his laptop is stolen, the attacker has the keys to the kingdom, no brute force needed. I forced him to generate a new ED25519 key with a strong passphrase, add it to ssh-agent, and configure his shell to auto-start the agent so he only types it once per session.

…yet every reply you make is just you re‑explaining your own experience like it’s some universal truth. I’m discussing an actual product with actual data. You’re treating your anecdote like scripture. I assume that's because you can't actually engage substantively and instead go with MCS. So, I'll try again: Reviews for the HP OmniBook 5 14: TechRadar: 4/5 Windows Central: 4.5/5 PCMag: 4/5 PCWord: 4/5 Notebookcheck: 86% CNET: 8.5/10 Amazon user reviews (131): 4.5/5 Why is this a bad laptop? Not for YOU, but for those who prefer Windows?

Microsoft appears to be using AI slop to promote Windows 11 features that don’t look real. Yes, it looks like Microsoft’s marketing team can’t even capture a screenshot in Windows 11 to promote a basic feature like the Snipping Tool or the desktop. Microsoft proudly says the AI-slop screenshot of Windows 11 was generated using Copilot. In the image, the UI feels off, the details also don’t line up, and some of the so-called features don’t even look like the real UI of Windows 11. That’s the bigger problem with AI-generated marketing. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is partly a marketing strategy to promote Copilot itself 🤷‍♂️

Microsoft confirmed it received reports of users losing access to the C: drive and experiencing app failures after installing the Windows 11 March 2026 Update. However, it turns out the symptoms were caused by an issue in the Samsung Galaxy Connect app, not Windows Updates. “While the reports coincided with the timing of the March Patch Tuesday updates, our investigation confirmed the issue is not caused by the current or previous Windows monthly updates,” Microsoft said. Moreover, some AI-generated reports on the internet claim that the March 2026 Update causes BSODs and reboot loops on certain PCs. However, it appears those publications relied on AI summaries of a handful of forum posts, and the update itself appears to be safe. Microsoft says it is not aware of any major issues with the March 2026 Update, and we have not encountered any significant bugs in our own tests either. Do not uninstall the Windows update due to false reports. It contains important security fixes.
