@TheSharkTribe @NoblestCalling I'd hate to break it to you, but the price of insulin is because of government (patents), not because of the free market. A totally free market would have very cheap insulin. Drug costs around the world are lower because the US effectively subsidizes everyone else.

What is the point of having a government if you don't think one of its roles is to feed people who might otherwise not be able to feed their families. Also idc what you think of the parents. Kids should eat regardless of their parents' problems.

@MidwesternSaint @NoblestCalling What competition? This is a myth. Have you checked the price of insulin lately? It’s x12 more in the US than any other country. Government is VERY efficient, actually, DOGE basically found nothing and privatization adds profit motive, making them more expensive.

@TheSharkTribe @NoblestCalling That's not even kind of true. Competition drives prices down, and government by definition doesn't face competition. The inefficiencies and bureaucracies behind government are much more than the 1-2% profit margin a private grocery store gets out of purchases and it's not close.

@cowgrilll @TheSharkTribe I’m sorry, you think I should be dead because I don’t support slavery? Yeah, that checks out. Leftism is as leftism does.

@Serenitatis76 @jesajamatteus @NoblestCalling Yeah corporate greed wastes money once again. Wanna talk about numbers? You wanna talk about pentagon budgets? The cost of our forever wars for oil? The trillions in free corroborate welfare that were just signed into law on Thursday? And you’re mad at school lunch subsidies.

@Serenitatis76 @TeancumsRaiders @NoblestCalling “You didn’t say thank you enough”. Gross. You haven’t read the Declaration of Independence. Human freedom is inalienable and God-given. The founders didn’t grant it to us, and you don’t understand what they were saying. Don’t try and scold people into obeying your gross regime.

@MYC0RN @NoblestCalling You’ve not seen many functional governments, then. Travel and observe with clear eyes how most people around the globe enjoy a better society than we do in the United States. When they hear about the awful conditions here, they assume it’s exaggeration. They can’t believe it.

Nope, not something I've been told. I see it over and over and over. No government has ever been better at welfare than my family, community and faith. As far as the governments intended function, we need to revolt against any thief who thinks that stealing from others in the name of charity to others. Charity with other people's money isn't kindness or charity. That's stealing.

@jesajamatteus @NoblestCalling Humans do care for each other. You’re in an unnatural state of indifference. Structuring a society to look after the hungry is a normal, compassionate and moral thing to do. We structure our government to do what we will. A civilization worth having uses that structure to help.

@NoblestCalling That's not the role of government. Governments job is public safety, national security etc. Not taking care of children with irresponsible parents. This policy leads to people having children to receive government money. We have a child obesity problem not a hungry problem.

@HatchlingOW @NoblestCalling Homelessness is solved very easily by building people homes so they can live in them. Homeless is maintained deliberately to pressure workers to obey their bosses under threat of being cast out on the street. Also why it’s illegal to be homeless. More money. It’s intentional.

@NoblestCalling Curious as to if the thoughts of any of responses swayed your opinion. I, believe the literal only way to actually solve homeless is through the family. Everything else is only a band-aid. Food is to me a similar issue, but can be solved by volunteers and chruch.

@tpeter077 @NoblestCalling Yeah just no, nope. We don’t exist as a society to funnel our tax dollars into the accounts of weapons contractors. A civilization that allows people to be unhoused and starve while allowing billionaires and trillions of bailouts is a failed state. Don’t justify it.

@NoblestCalling The number one role of government is national security. Charity is reserved for religious organizations, nonprofits and good Samaritans. We should give people the chance to choose the right, not force them to choose the right, and they will rise to the occasion.

@NoblestCalling If a parent so useless that in the richest country in the world they can’t even afford to feed their kids, and can’t get assistance from private charities, then they have forfeited their right to have those kids in their home.

@qwertyish @NoblestCalling Government spends more efficiently than privatization, by definition, every time. Make billionaires actually pay taxes and we could have amazing things in our society like other modern countries for once.

@NoblestCalling Children should eat. My disagreement lies in the idea of placing gov't with the responsibility of making all "should"s a reality. Gov't spends inefficiently, so I would strongly prefer to pay less taxes & let individuals choose what "should"s to make real in their own community.

@MidwesternSaint @NoblestCalling Government programs are *always* cheaper and better-run than privatized solutions- which extract profit in addition to baseline expenses. Look at the London subway privatization for a vivid example.

@NoblestCalling You can argue that the government can help, but it's not the federal government's role. If a state or local government wants to do it, I might support it depending on the proposed solution. The feds are almost never the most efficient answer.
