"Root cause" for ghostfills seems to be fixed ! Ghostfills relied on finding tricks to invalidate your transaction between the time your order was matched on the CLOB and the moment it settled on chain (2-3s) What was done to prevent that : 1 - Removed EOA (Externally Owned Accounts) wallets ❌ Meaning you can't just trade on @polymarket from your personal Polygon wallet and pay your own gas anymore. EOA are pure self custodial wallets so you have an infinity of ways to prevent settlement with the 2s window you have. Nonce increment was just the easiest but there would have been other ways if EOA wallets stayed. Glad they are gone 2 - Removed Gnosis safe wallets ❌ Not as bad as EOA but they still create sync issues between CLOB and chain that attacked can exploit 3 - Migrated everyone to new POLY_1271 wallet ✅ This new wallet type will basically only be use to withdraw and deposit pUSD. All trading will now actually take place on the CLOB or within Polymarket's smart contracts. You don't sign and approve individual trades anymore I don't see how ghostfills can still exist in the configuration so i think we can calm down about that. The last few days on this matter were very bad because attackers rushed in to exploit the last window of opportunity but they should definitely be fixed once this new system is in place

@Autonomous_Chad You shared the message as a statement that it had been resolved. (which wasn't the case). Otherwise I really liked your post. Was an incredibly good explanation. Let's see if it is resolved when the upgrade is finalized.

@0xdanzu @Polymarket There is also the bug that in the UI, for closed positions, profiles only show wins, not losses.

A few updates from today at @Polymarket : - We're putting the finishing touches on the Deposit Wallet release to fix the ghost fills issue. It launches tomorrow, May 4th at 12:30 UTC, with up to 30 min of maintenance downtime. - Remaining liquidity rewards from migration day (April 28th) have been allocated. Participants should see them on the rewards page. They will distribute at 12am UTC as usual. - Rewards weren't accruing for ~40 minutes earlier today while the system processed past rewards and recalculated new ones. That's now fixed and live liquidity rewards are accruing normally. - The team is aware of an increase in "not enough balance/allowance" errors and is working on a fix. - We're working on a patch for users seeing PnL issues after converting or merging shares. Expected to ship around Wednesday.

@ikarusz26 @Polymarket @shayne_coplan @mustafap0ly All of these are being worked on - number 1 gets fixed Monday.. we fully understand everyone’s frustrations with a bunch of things and we are going to do better
Josh@devjoshstevens

This is my 3rd week as VP of Engineering DeFi at @Polymarket , and I'm going to be straight: the traction @Polymarket has seen has massively outpaced our infrastructure, and we haven't done nearly enough to scale to keep up. I hear you, and fixing this is our entire focus. We're a major company now, and we need to engineer like one. Here's exactly what we're doing: - Onchain data latency. We're working on making this near-instant so the experience is incredible. - Chain migration. We need more block space, cheaper gas and much smaller block times so settlement is instant. - Transactions are getting cancelled. We understand this is one of the most frustrating issues right now, and we have a complete fix coming very soon. - Massive focus on the website to make it faster, more responsive, and with better UX. - We added observability everywhere. Proper alerting so we catch issues ourselves, market makers should not be the ones telling us something is down. That's been unacceptable, and we know it. - E2e tests throughout, starting with the CLOB, so issues get caught in CI before anything ships. - CLOBv2 is not a rewrite. It won't improve performance or stability on its own; it's an upgrade that unlocks us to move fast right after. We'll do better with communication next time. - We are rebuilding the CLOB from the ground up. Most important thing we're doing. Without it, we can't be the best DeFi exchange in the world. We know it, we're on it, it's mission critical. - Unified TypeScript SDK for all APIs, which is shipping soon. - Unified API. One WS connection for everything, with a schema that's actually readable. - New Polymarket contract in the works that unlocks things that are simply impossible on the current protocol. - New hires: Head of QA Automation, Head of Dev Tooling, Head of Internal Tooling, Head of Data Engineering. - Smaller, dedicated teams. Fewer focus points per person, clearer ownership. People do what they're good at and are accountable for it. - Working closely with customer support to give them real debugging tools so any user issue gets properly diagnosed, not lost. - Proper communication with marketing and market makers so everyone knows what's coming and when, and MM can submit feature requests with a clear path to get them into engineering and shipped. - Working with 4 security teams daily to ensure we're super secure and that funds are always safe. - Perps incoming. Brand new contracts and a backend built from scratch in Rust. We're proud of this one. - A lot of other fixes are running in parallel right now. Starting next Friday, I will be posting weekly engineering updates. I joined because I genuinely believe in what @Polymarket is trying to do. @shayne_coplan built this so the world has somewhere to go to find out what's actually going to happen, not what the media thinks, not what a pundit says, but what thousands of people are willing to put money on. But right now, our engineering isn't living up to that. We've let people down, and I'm not going to dress that up. I came here to fix it, and that's exactly what we're going to do. The next few months are going to speak for themselves. Stay with us.

-> @Polymarket is literally unusable and predatory atm (Throwing more LP rewards won't fix this). 1) fix ghost orders asap 2) launch in the US 3) launch L2 4) tge poly and replace uma you're literally trying to fail by succeeding! @shayne_coplan @devjoshstevens @mustafap0ly
Domer❤️‍🔥@Domahhhh

@Eltonma It's unusable right now. I see huge order walls in a market I want to trade and I don't even bother. Obv fake. Really sad. I also woke up to see someone tried to pull off a huge uma scam and nearly succeeded. The site is unfortunately a huge joke atm, need to hire better ppl.

PredictFolio is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to help define the single source of truth for prediction market data. We’re looking for a senior data engineer with proven experience in: > Building and scaling high-performance data processing systems (Rust or Go preferred) > Designing and operating time-series pipelines at scale Working with custom OLTP + OLAP architectures (not just off-the-shelf tools) > Strong affinity with prediction markets, trading systems, or smart contracts > A high level of ownership and accountability in production systems You’ll be working on: > Real-time ingestion and processing of market data > Designing systems that act as a verifiable system of record > Solving edge cases others ignore, from ‘simple’ issues such as PnL correctness to large scale data consistency We’re an early-stage startup growing fast, with real traction and hard technical problems. Looking for a full-time role where your work actually defines the foundation of a new category? DM @meepie with your Curriculum Vitae, + short motivation. If there’s a fit, we’ll set up a call.

Yesterday's CLOBv2 was a major release. 235M PUSD have been migrated so far, and a big credit to the team for the months of work that went into it. CLOBv2 is the first step toward fixing the root cause of failed transactions but standalone isn't the final fix for it. The final fix ships Monday to stop failed transactions. It needed CLOBv2 to land first. Given the scope of the change, it also had to go through a full audit, which is why it's taken a little longer than we'd have liked. I know how frustrating it is when a trade fails. We're on it. As we've said, we're going to make Polymarket's infrastructure the best in the industry. Bear with us as we continue to improve performance and reliability across the system.

Can someone look into the bug that CLOB v2 generated? TITLE ===== /activity API returns duplicate rows for some on-chain fills (post-V2) SUMMARY ======= The public /activity endpoint at data-api.polymarket.com sometimes returns each on-chain OrderFilled event as TWO byte-identical rows (same transactionHash, asset, timestamp, price, size, usdcSize). Verified against on-chain truth via Polygon RPC: a single OrderFilled event in the receipt corresponds to two rows in /activity. The doubling appears at the transaction level — a tx is either fully clean (1 row per fill) or fully doubled (2 rows per fill). Empirical sample showed ~60% of recent multi-row clusters are phantom-doubled. REPRODUCTION ============ For wallet 0xdeca32428d5cf4b1c4d7266a950e20791676ddd5 on 2026-04-30: curl 'data-api.polymarket.com/activity?user=…' \ | jq '.[] | select(.transactionHash=="0x06fa1d4254f13ebaaa67dad51ff574ff491600e7204fb5aefae8ace7658250a3" and .side=="BUY")' Returns 30 rows of {size: 128.5, price: 0.99, usdcSize: 128.3715}. The on-chain transaction receipt for that tx (polygonscan.com/tx/0x06fa1d425…) shows exactly 15 OrderFilled events for this wallet, 15 USDC Transfer events, and 15 ERC1155 TransferSingle events. All three event streams agree: 15 real fills. /activity returned 30. The duplication is exactly 2:1. ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE =================== - Pre-V2 byte-identical-pair rate across sampled wallets: ~1.4% - Post-V2 (after 2026-04-28 cutover): ~78.7% - Sample: 4 high-frequency wallets (0x661d5894, 0x4b8ed704, 0x245e8692, 0xdeca3242), 16 multi-row clusters checked against on-chain ground truth — 10 phantom-doubled, 6 legitimate multi-maker fills. Always 1:1 or 2:1, never partial ratios. IMPACT ====== Downstream consumers (leaderboards, copy-trade analyzers, third-party analytics) compute inflated volume and P&L for affected wallets. Verified via on-chain reconciliation: wallet 0xdeca... showed 30 vs 15 fills on a single tx, doubling its claimed traded volume. PROBABLY-RELATED ================ The 2026-04-28 V2 migration. Pre-V2 data has 1.4% rate; post-V2 has 78.7%. Possible re-indexing job or new emission path doubles each fill record on write to the activity DB.
