#Toronto hands out ~2.15 million parking tickets a year. That's around $100M pulled straight out of drivers' pockets. 😳 And when people actually fight them? 40% get knocked down because the signs are that confusing. So the system isn't catching dangerous parkers. It's catching regular people who couldn't decode a stacked sign in 8 seconds. I got tired of it. So I built Yax. It does two things nothing else in the city does: 1- Snap any sign. Get a plain-English answer in seconds. Tap once and it reads it out loud so you don't have to stare at your phone in the rain ✨ 2- It's built on top of SolveTO data 💪🏼. So it doesn't just tell you where to park: it warns you about potholes, road damage, and rough streets on the block you're heading to. Whether that street is even worth driving down 🎯 Plus the basics done right: every Green P near you, live availability, save your spot, reminder before your time runs out. I'm working proof of concept. I'm opening a tiny private round before the beta. A handful of Toronto drivers. Free. You talk to me directly. If this hits home, DM me. I'll hand-pick a few people and send you the link the second it's ready. First in, first to break it.

I once got beaten in primary school. When my mum came to pick me, my teacher reported it. We got home…..and she beat me again. Then she said, “Tomorrow, make sure you beat that person well. Nobody should bully you.” Clear instruction. Strong backing. Next day, I went to school with purpose. I didn’t just fight……I fought like I had sponsorship. By the time I finished, it was not one person again. It was two. After school, report reached home. We got back…..and I received another beating. “Why did you go and disgrace me in school?” Till today, I don’t know the lesson. But I know one thing, nobody bullied me ever again.

ATTENTION: I logged in to the news of Peter Obi’s final exit from the ADC and honestly, it clarifies a lot. Now, let me state this plainly: any politician choosing to align with Atiku Abubakar does so at their own peril. More troubling is any party that continues to absorb him into its fold. His political pattern is consistent: he enters, destabilizes, and exits, leaving disarray behind. Let’s rewind for context. I once said I wanted to see Obi leave the ADC, not out of sentiment, but to test a theory: to reveal who truly forms the nucleus of that party. Now, that moment is here. Watch closely. The internal cracks, the leadership tussles, the identity crisis we all saw at ADC—they will all vanish naturally. This isn’t speculation; it’s a recurring cycle. And when it happens, it reinforces a hard truth: Atiku’s political weight is often overstated. He has largely ridden on existing structures rather than building enduring ones of his own. Stripped of alliances and borrowed platforms, what remains is not the image many have been sold. However, until parties become bigger than the ambitions of the politicians within them, this cycle of entry, disruption, and exit will continue, and the electorate will keep paying the price for it. 👩🏾‍🦯👩🏾‍🦯👩🏾‍🦯

New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) is a top medican journal with a an impact factor of 78.5 And a paper with an AI-generated image (notice the nonsensical ruler) was able to get past NEJM editors and peer reviewers. I've been saying this for the last three years that people forget to use their common sense when it comes to AI.

Crazy how quickly red incandescents put people to sleep, especially children. Last night my gf was babysitting a 4 year old at our house and within 5 minutes of me switching the lighting to red incandescents she went from being a ball of energy to tired and ready for sleep. Take notes parents.

Nephew apparently “never wants to go to sleep.” Apparently he’s in bed by 8 when there’s no blue light around.

@tphilz_ @adanonso_ Saw a post today where Jet Blue is providing the same fare price for those having Spirit airline tickets. I think they might want to step into space and meet the demand for less expensive travel.

Why is it so expensive to travel from Canada to the U.S., which is basically our backyard? A round trip from Toronto to Dallas is over $858, yet I can do four different flights from Buffalo to multiple cities and still spend about the same. At this point, I will just quietly drive to Buffalo and start my vacation from there 🙄🤨

The responses to this are a good reminder that a lot of anti-immigrant keyboard warriors have no idea what the law says. “He had 20 years to become a citizen!” No. Thanks to country of origin caps, the wait time for Indians can be over *100 years*—just to get a green card. Many die waiting in line. We tell people seeking the American Dream to come here “the right way,” and then we punish them for doing so.
Sam Peak@SpeakSamuel

This H-1B worker has lived in the US for nearly 20 years and built a family here. His mom was dying in India. To visit her, he would need to wait months to book a consular appointment--with the soonest one available likely being scheduled one year out. He made the difficult choice of not visiting his dying mom because leaving without an appointment would mean separation from his children, job, and his other obligations. Much of the commentary around immigration focuses on how such bureaucratic burdens undermine immigrants’ ability to contribute and innovate. But we must remember that this red tape also prevents these people from being fully engaged with their own lives and meaningfully present in the lives of others. This matters too, and these seemingly non-economic problems will eventually translate into economic costs. If America is no longer a place where people feel empowered to be the best versions of themselves as they celebrate, struggle, and grieve, it ceases not just being the land of opportunity, but also the land of dignity and purpose. linkedin.com/posts/gautam-d…

@AmbAgboola @Morris_Monye The outcome is not just the goal. We are focused on changing the narrative. To give more people a voice in crafting their own destinies. Everything is not politics or should be political. Obi is a far better alternative than anything we currently have. Let him move!!!
