We had another lovely visitor to our advice clinic! It was brilliant to meet with local Ahmadi Muslim Imam Mustaraf Ahmed, who is working on interfaith understanding and trying to break down barriers. It was a real joy to meet him and hear about his work 🙏🙂

@MatthewOToole2 Why when asbestos was present at the site was it not properly removed and disposed of? Kids probably playing in and around that site and yet no one mentioned decontaminating the site. Hope you’re as passionate about its removal. Admit it the bonfire and culture is your gripe.

A dispiriting week but the core point I and my colleagues have made is not about identity or culture. There is a public health risk from the bonfire at the Village. Please don't put yourself at risk to spite us, or to vindicate some big mouth attention seeker.

Making sure that bonfires do not jeopardise public health is not an attack on anyone's culture. I want people to enjoy bonfires, safely. Away from the toxic noise of a few agitators, most people agree with this basic principle. Let's try to have cool heads and leadership.
