@FiniteMTG I voted b) because Pride, while probably a power-outlier, asks something of you and is a neat build around. Everyone having 1-Drops and 1-drop interaction by definition really changes the play pattern. Guide of lost souls asks very little and is very strong.

@luckypaperMtG It took me some time to learn and accept that I can’t know every single card just by art anymore. It took some time accepting that. Change is unpleasant. I don’t think it’s an issue for the game. I have learned to appreciate the idea that there is always something to discover.

Do you think fatigue with the pace of releases is an issue, whether you yourself feel it or not, facing Magic broadly in 2024?

@zoydraft I do not know how uniform your play group is, but the type of magic background of players has a huge influence on what „approachable“ is.

@mtg_ds Are these better in control or aggro in your estimation? I can imagine myself being down to 13 and happy for an untapped dual

These are so cool, and flavorful, and I love the names and art. It's awesome to get some conditionally untapped lands at common! But I don't think they will end up in my Pauper Cube. 😞 Mainly, I think any deck that would want these would more often be happier with a ping land.

Would anyone read a vintage cube guide by the oppar. I also dislike the format heavily but have had some pretty good to pretty good results. I have to make one already for my friend just wondering how much detail I should go into.

I value how evocative a design is in addition to what Bones mentioned here. I did not spend enough time on this to make my list definite though.

So, jetzt wo die Meistergespräche "Antagonisten und Gegenspieler Teil 1" seit ein paar Tagen rumgeistert kommt meine Frage - wer ist (und warum) euer Lieblingsbösewicht oder Gegenspielerin? Film, Fernsehen, Gaming, P&P - whatnot. :-)

@JafferTTV @Rhycore_ I don’t play commander. Two reasons: 1) It’s a constructed format and I get bored playing the same deck for longer than three hours. Can’t buy a new deck every game night. 2) It is multiplayer. I do not enjoy social dynamics deciding games. Politicking is only a subset of this.

@matt_grenier I was thinking about this when many retail limited sets had the gain lands as common fixing. The crime lands now (after people started complaining more that games are to fast) made me doubt it was intentional.

So frequently I’ll get to a point in the game that’s on the verge of being interesting, then look at the life totals and say “oh, I’m dead.”

So much of the Magic I’ve played in the last six months feels like it’s being balanced around a starting life total higher than 20. This isn’t some coy comment about commander, but it’s not unrelated.
