@HosannaHosannaa Sane converts are going to have to take batons to both sexes to make them even capable of behaving in a community environment.

You guys better pray for that girl. What some of you did to her is exactly the sort of thing that can make her stop going to church, become depressed, and the many worse things that follow from that. Public humiliation like that is not a joke please stop acting so damn wreckless

This is what happens when the gospel becomes secondary within the church. Suggested donations become a part of your website for things we expect from those who consider themselves servants of Christ. I don't recall pastor Jim Bob expecting $150 to come bless your home and car.

TTRPGs are in-fact not about telling stories, they are about recreating the conditions which create events worth retelling. They are mechanistic machines which reproduce stories from their actual happenings.

@MrDunetrader @Nobleshield @lotro As a level 30 dwarf I remember making like 20 gold pieces by reselling legendary gear stuff you get in the little wave battles you unlock at level 20. Very broken. I was incredibly rich from people just not knowing they could get that stuff easily for almost nothing.

@The_Oriflamme_ @Nobleshield @lotro I was nosy enough to venture into Lothlorien to take a peek once. But the later content didn't quite attract me as much. And I feel almost "at home" in Evendim. And the Forsaken Inn in the Lonelands I "borrowed" for my TTRPG table once. Or twice. 😎

@UnseenPathways And they need to be welcomed. But some older folks (and alot of women) think nagging them like a grade school teacher is a functional strategy.

I’m late to this but one factor no one mentions is that so many of the people coming are autistic or “autistic-presenting” terminally online types. The young guys need older guys to model how to have a conversation. They need their morale boosted. They need community tbh.

@Nobleshield @MrDunetrader @lotro LOTRO....I haven't thought about that in years.... I stopped right before that expansion where they started getting into Rohan.

@MrDunetrader @lotro LOTRO greatly needs a button prune and revamp of its leveling IMHO. Way too inaccessible to get into now.

@abighamb @Deaf__Smith @AngloVarangian But @abighamb I had it easy once. So clearly people trying almost a decade after I did have the same things going for them and do not need my help. They are obviously just bad and not trying.

Its amusing to me how I consistently people say "the men are bad and need to shape up" and then praise one another for something that is said constantly, at all times. It is a safe thing to say that some pretend is novel @AngloVarangian's thread was spot on.
Deaf Smith ☦️@Deaf__Smith

Young guys need to read this point and then read it again. After that, read it again. Then, read it again. All y'all who are out there lamenting about not being able to find a wife need to know this.

@Deaf__Smith @AngloVarangian My point is I notice alot of older men don't use this to help young men, but to instead sneer at them performatively for an ego boost. It easier to repeat the same useless points than actually help. Which is exactly what I get from all your belittling comments about them.

The assumption here is that there should be anything novel offered. Are you suggesting that what they have "heard constantly their entire live" isn't true? This sounds like a kid when he is told he needs to turn off the game and go outside. He's been told to go outside, but refuses to accept the truth that outside is objectively better than his video game.

@Deaf__Smith @AngloVarangian Again, you're offering nothing new to the conversation. This is just the often repeated "men doing anything but work is bad for getting married." Its not insightful or novel. Its not something they haven't heard constantly their entire lives.

I posted that with his thread in mind. It was a sad expense of energy. These guys are fine expending their energy and time on building a 10k follower Twitter account while claiming they can't find a woman. Get out there and get one, guys. It isn't actually as hard as you've made yourselves believe. Men don't behave like that.

@wacentrist @abighamb Original. Another boomer with vague aphorisms. You can't address half of the counterpoints. So you must instead larp as if you're some wise elder, gracing us with your chiefly wisdom of: "screw over the young because some are bad."

Watching men with good blue collar careers and solid foundations be passed over by picky women with 60k in student debt over and over has been one of the most depressing things to watch as a married man in the church.
