@matthewcrory The Ms have Willy to play 3rd and they have their top prospect Colt Emerson coming up to replace JP when he’s ready. This wouldn’t help the mariners at all and would have them sell off there best young pitcher at a huge discount for no reason. This is a solid 1/10 proposal

I’ve been thinking a lot about this. Last offseason, the Mariners were interested in trading for David Hamilton, and with both Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suarez hitting free agency, there’s another gaping hole in the Seattle infield. Hear me out: I think a package involving Marcelo Mayer could make a lot of sense for all parties. He showed that he could play a phenomenal 3B when he had to step in to make his pro debut for the injured Alex Bregman without any real experience playing at 3rd. Mayer is a top prospect in baseball and someone who could eventually replace JP Crawford at SS if needed. My proposal: Mariners get: Marcelo Mayer Payton Tolle Brandon Clarke Red Sox get: Bryan Woo The Mariners have top prospect Cole Young (SS/2B) who made his MLB debut this season, so between Young, Mayer, and Crawford, they have the middle/left side of the IF locked down. Only downside is all 3 of those players bat lefty. But it’s almost 2026 does anyone still care about that? (On the right, Woo edit by @RafaelaEnjoyer)
