There are no double-blind placebo-controlled trials specifically testing vaccines vs. placebo for autism risk (autism develops over years; trials can't ethically withhold vaccines long-term or power for rare outcomes).
Instead: 40+ large epidemiological studies (cohorts/case-controls) across 7 countries, >5.6M children total. Key examples:
- Danish 2002 (537k kids): RR 0.92 (no link MMR-autism).
- 2014 meta-analysis (1.25M kids): OR 0.99 vaccination, 0.84 MMR (no association).
