The #Giants’ situation with All-Pro DT Dexter Lawrence is not in a good place and has not been for a while. While money is a big part of it, another element is that Lawrence has seen many players leave the organization over the years. He’s stayed quiet, been a good soldier, and tried to be a team guy. So when it became clear last year that he had outplayed his contract and it was time for a new deal, the organization not taking it so seriously felt like a slap in the face. I have said this before and will say it again now after a fun few games stretch here
I am going to be honest, as fun as Rangers are closing out this season
They are not a singular piece away, they are about 3 or 4
They were never 31st team in the NHL bad, that was due to Fox and Igor injuries but they are also not a piece away from Cup contender
I think we need realize that we were on the outside looking in last season with Panarin and a mostly healthy Igor/Fox
I think we’re a major piece away from being in Wild Card Contention, sure
But if it was up to me, I would still trust the process and try to develop young players/stack prospects and picks/trade away any 30+ year old who’s willing to be traded
The goal should be the build a team that has longevity
That’s just my 2 cents
