Texans didn’t ask for this. This wasn’t put up for a vote. Our elected officials have failed to represent Texans. Instead, they encouraged immigration and left our borders wide open. Now they’re passing a “Dignity” bill to grant amnesty. We weren’t even dignified with the chance to oppose this invasion.

My grandmother remembers when they renamed German St. to American St., switched the German presses to English, and stopped the German language Lutheran services etc. in Ohio
(It took a second World War for this basic assimilation to happen)

What many immigrants fail to understand is that the price of admission to be grafted onto the American tree is giving up their previous identities.
They must be willing to give up their ethnic heritage, native language, long-held customs, and incompatible belief systems in order for their descendants to eventually be considered American.
They cannot establish new roots without pulling up the old ones from the garden entirely.
Heritage Americans used to expect this assimilation from every single immigrant without shame or hesitation. We need to revive and proudly embrace this expectation again.
