The lack of transparency around this is shocking. Who are these individuals, and how were they selected What are their age groups, and do they belong to a specific demographic Was there a recruitment competition where people could apply, because I don't recall such a competition

Given you have an 18 year old keeper who’s just conceded a soft goal a couple minutes before, does the ball have to go back to him here? This is where players have to take responsibility, give the lad a bit of a break and stop passing backwards putting him under pressure

@evinh111 Spent the start of the season with no centre backs too and had to draft an emergency loan in. Also had spells of no fully fit fullbacks. Serious questions of Mauro tbh. Tried a full preseason in a shortened window post Europe

As awful as last night was (and it WAS awful), I feel like there's been absolutely no mention in that media at any stage this season that Shels have had a Spurs 25/26 level injury crisis all year long. Currently missing 1/2/3rd choice keepers, 3/4 strikers, 2/3 CMs...

@seidodge Was whispers in the ground he did his cruciate too. Moylan had been injured until last night with the 3rd or 4th choice u20 keeper the previous bench option.

Shels fans, what’s the story with Speel? I know Walsh got injured recently so is young Moylan the only fit keeper? Presume they’ll look to bring in an experienced keeper if Speel is out

I was on Newstalk this morning discussing something that's been on my mind for a while: why does Ireland ask so little of people applying for citizenship, when almost every other country in Europe asks for more? Spain requires a language exam and a civics test with a 60% pass mark. Germany requires B1 language plus a 33-question test on German society and law. France introduced a mandatory civic exam this year, alongside a B2 language requirement for naturalisation. Ireland asks for neither. This conversation has been prompted by the Bouchaker case, and I want to be careful here: I'm not saying that case proves language causes crime, and the Taoiseach was right to make that point. But it does show up a wider gap in our system, one where someone can gain citizenship without ever demonstrating a working knowledge of the language or the civic life of this country. That's not about being harsh. It's about bringing Ireland's rules in line with what the rest of Europe already does. Have a listen to the interview and let me know what you think.

@Niall_Boylan You're 100% right. But by the time the next GE comes around it will be beyond repair, and the Independents and Aontu won't get enough votes to get them in. It will either be the same or the opposition (which is a death sentence). There's absolutely no way out of this.

Update — 8th July 2026. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I have fought every way I know how for Katie. I have emailed. I have begged. I have fundraised. I have gone public. I have stood in front of politicians. I have tried to raise the money myself because my daughter needs surgery. For 4 years, I have tried to raise the funds to get Katie to Florida. I hoped people would get on board and help us get her the surgery she needs. But 4 years on, we still haven’t even reached a quarter of our target. Katie is still waiting. Still in pain. Still without surgery. Still without a proper answer. This was 15th September 2025. I stood in front of Micheál Martin and told him about Katie. Days later, I was told the CEO of the HSE had been informed. Now it’s 8th July 2026. Katie has waited 15 years, 40 weeks and 7 days since her hip dysplasia was first recorded. How much longer is she expected to suffer? I am her mother and I will never stop fighting for her, but I am exhausted. Completely exhausted. A 19-year-old girl should not have to rely on fundraising, strangers, shares and donations to get the surgery she needs. This is Irish healthcare. #IrishHealthcare #katiesfighttokeepwalking
