ROAD TO SLUMBOMBER MOVIE PREMIERE - POST 9 Uganda has very few filmmakers who are dedicated to making sports films but if there's a list, I think Maureen Nankya a.k.a Mona @TheMona247 must be on that list. Mona's love for physical exercises and fitness has seen her spend time training to be on top of her fitness and for all the time I have known her, I have always found her in gym like attires especially sneakers/trainer shoes. As an actress, I think Mona has played mostly athletic characters because she is always the most outstanding when turns up for auditions. It you think I am laying, watch a film called 'The Athlete' by @mattbish_dir and she how she shined in that character. When I heard that Mona was the executive producer and director of Uganda's first top boxing film called @SlumBomberMovie, I knew the story was in the right hands. Mona is passionate, relentless and very intentional which is exactly what such stories require. I have been following the journey of #SlumBomberMovie and I must say, everyone who loves the boxing sport, wishes it the best and those who love inspirational stories should prepare to watch this film. Such hardworking female filmmakers need all the support in order to inspire another generation. Premiering on the 27th of June 2025 at a Ugandan cinema near you.
