Hi @RTE2fm just listening to @the2johnnies who read a text from a @dpdireland driver who was shocked by a woman who answered the door while breastfeeding her child 'without a care in the world', presumably in her own home. Just wondering what exactly was so shocking or funny?

@alexdowsett The headline that always annoys me the most is “car hits cyclist”. No, DRIVER hits cyclist!

Overheard 2 workmen outside my front door today talking about a car/bike near miss they had today. I couldn’t help eavesdrop as the words “almost killed a cyclist this morning” are a jovial conversation starter. I don’t know who was at fault or the details of the incident.

Women are also having to see the word ‘woman/women’ changed in medical language specific to them and only them changed to things like ‘people with a cervix’ and ‘people who menstruate’. @jess_do_it_x @CB13931 @ce_dyke1 @sharrond62 To be honest, anyone can be respected if they are respecting other people and not expecting the majority to change for the few. Women are being asked to downgrade their own experiences of competition, and privacy (think toilets) to accommodate males who want to be females. 1/2

‘live as a woman’ What does that actually mean if you don’t have female biology? Heels, long hair, lipstick? It’s such an insult to every woman who doesn’t comply to ridiculous old fashioned stereotypes, that women have fought for decades to get away from to be reduced to outfits & hairstyles. Including me. Does that mean we’re not women then? Humans are male/female even those with a DSD. No insulting stereotype ‘act’ is required to be female. We just are. A trans women is & always will be a biological male. A feeling in a persons head does not trump a reality. We know this, we just don’t all say it. Sex in humans cannot be changed. No matter how much somebody may want to! We much deal in facts, not fantasy… incredibly dangerous long term, where does that stop? Can humans feel a different age than they really are or maybe even think they’re fat when they’re actually emaciated & close to death. We accept this as not healthy & don’t encourage it. A dysphoria is a dysphoria. Sex not gender for sport offers Equal opportunities for both sexes. Anything else is regressive & unfair to half the world.

@BridgefordMark @NoNoNoNoYes5 @sharrond62 In participation sport where there are no prizes and emphasis is on participation, rather than competition, complete inclusion regardless of unfair advantages is fine. But allowing biological males to compete against women in elite sport is not okay.

@NoNoNoNoYes5 @sharrond62 OK. So it’s not about fairness or safety in the end. It’s about not allowing people to play sports with other people, even if they all want to, on the basis of sex as a matter of principle.

Putting this out again so any politician or trans activist checking out my tweets can see it… this was just in 24hrs. This is how people feel about fair sport for females here in the Uk (&around the world). Safe, fair then inclusive in that order. Female/Open no one left out

@TheScarletWit11 @Sandyj10men @sharrond62 Of course, if a trans woman became transgender before going through male puberty, there could be a case for them competing in women’s sport. But the best option for maintaining the extremely hard-won integrity of women’s sport is for only biological females to take part.

@TheScarletWit11 @Sandyj10men @sharrond62 A trans woman, whether reducing testosterone or not, is still biologically closer to a male than a woman due to having gone through puberty, building the additional strength offered by high testosterone levels. They should therefore only ever compete against males.

Trans women are not female (the dimorphic sexual description of one’s biological reality; male/female, there is no 3rd gamete or 3rd sex) DSD is not a 3rd sex & disrespectful to people with a DSD. Hence the word trans. I’m sorry but language needs to have clear meaning or we can no longer describe things accurately, this only suits those who wish to conflate truth. We can still respect & acknowledge those who wish to be identified as trans women (or trans men) & feel happier that way. In fact support is important. But- Without resorting to The Emperor’s New Cloths!

Women’s sport is for biological females. Mens sport is for those with a biological male body.. it really isn’t complicated. No one is banned from sport, just a category they don’t qualify for, just like age, weight or para category We don’t have categories for height, feet size or wing span because sex difference is the biggest differential between binary humans.

This is what the RSA want's cycling to look like in Ireland, and this is what cycling looks like in the Netherlands. Guess which one is safer? PPE is no substitute for safe cycling infrastructure.
