The Caliph after Muhammad, Abu Bakr, waged a violent war against them. In fact, one of the major companions, Umar ibn al-Khattab, was surprised. He reminded him what Muhammad had said that he would only fight those who aren't Muslims to convert them: “I have been commanded to fight the people until they say: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.’ If they say it, they save their lives and property from me, except for a right, and their reckoning will be with Allah.” — Sahih al-Bukhari 25; Sahih Muslim 22 We assure you by God that this happened. Well, Abu Bakr went to fight Muslims. Why? Because of money. He said it himself. He plainly told them they had no right to separate obligations or withhold payment: “By Allah, I will fight those who differentiate between prayer and zakat. By Allah, if they withhold even a rope which they used to give to the Messenger of Allah, I will fight them for it.” — Sahih al-Bukhari 1400 See that? These people were still Muslims. They only said they won't pay the tax Muhammad imposed upon them. It was in one of these battles, called Yamama, that those who memorized the Qur’an died - many of them. They thought Allah would protect them because they had the Qur’an in their heads. Since Allah does not exist, they died. This was why they had to rush and document the Qur’an. Even Abu Bakr said he would not do what Muhammad did not do in making the Qur’an a document: “How can I do something which the Messenger of Allah did not do?” — Sahih al-Bukhari 4986 Well, they did after much persuasion. Guess where they reconstructed the Qur’an from? Leafs, parchments, rocks, and other fragmentary materials: “So I started collecting the Qur’an from palm stalks, thin white stones, and also from the men who knew it by heart…” — Sahih al-Bukhari 4986 That is how the Qur’an was compiled. And that's how the original thing taught by Muhammad was lost forever. It's why Uthman came a few years later to burn other copies and declare only one as the true Quran. Today, there are multiple recognized readings (qirā’āt) of the Qur’an with thousands of variations between them. In fact, what is considered the real mainstream Quran today was standardized just in 1924 at Al Azhar University in Cairo by scholars. We are saying all that to say that Islam is built by the sword. Muhammad did not spread Islam by evangelism as understood in Christianity, nor did he primarily systematize doctrine in the way later traditions would. It was power, expansion, and enforcement. In fact, after Muhammad, the movement rapidly expanded territorially through military campaigns. This is why you see Muslims killing us in Nigeria today. Thousands just fled Nasarawa State due to terrorist activities today. Now the Muslims will take over. That is Muhammad for you. The Muslims will kill us Christians till we either convert, pay the tax of humiliation, or be killed. We want you to wake up, and we want the Nigerian church to wake up also. There is fire on our mountain. Wake up, the mujahideens of Muhammad are marching. Wake up.
