The left doesn't understand. I don't feel like "a guy I admired" was assassinated. That would be bad enough. I feel like a brother was brutally murdered in front of me, and every single person on the left shares culpability. The left can think that's silly, overblown, illogical, or ridiculous, to feel that way about a man I've never met, but that's how I and, I'm sure, millions of people in this country are taking this terrible loss. Everyone is talking about how angry they are, furious, outraged... I get it, but that's not what I feel towards the left at all. I felt outrage when Trump was shot. This is something different. I feel nothing for these "people" except a horrible, dispassionate, and terrifying resolve and disgust to the core of my soul.

@ZannSuz I’ve heard the same thing about Abbott too. I’m not saying it’s not deserved but it doesn’t *always* translate to primary votes. The loudest voices aren’t the only voices out there.

Cornyn is nothing like Tillis or Cassidy. He’ll probably lose tomorrow but if he wins, it’ll be because he’s handled himself much better than any other primaried senator or Congressman. I personally never understood the hate he gets. That said, no one is entitled to a seat so it’s not like Paxton was breaking the law by running in a primary. And “nice guy” Hunt ran in the primary too! Massie had to go. Cassidy was way out of step with his state. But if Cornyn does win, it’s just a couple of Senate votes difference between him and Paxton over this coming term.

@chriswithans He personally wrote the "gun control" law that makes it to where the ATF can arrest anyone they want for legally selling a firearm to another private individual if they made a "profit." Fuck that guy.

There was a case where the DA prosecuted a guy, failed to get a conviction (hung jury), DA recused himself, the case got kicked to the AG's office. Assistant AG (some woman no one knows of) made the decision to get an admission of guilt rather than risk losing the case again and putting the family through it all. It's literally all they have on Paxton, that an assistant AG made a deal on a case a DA had already flubbed.

So, yes, he served only a portion of his 60-day sentence for s**ually abusing a child. His trial on first-degree felony charges ended in a mistrial after jurors deadlocked 7-5 in favor of finding him guilty. The President and I alleged in our lawsuit contesting the 2020 election that approximately 5,000 votes had been cast in the names of voters for whom there was on file a death certificate that matched the name and year of birth of the voter. We needed the full birth dates to quantify the exact number of dead people voting. Raffensperger refused to turn over the birth dates to us unless we dropped the lawsuit first - a patently ridiculous demand that inflamed the President's frustration leading up to the telephone call. The President and I "verified" our lawsuit - swore to the truth of every claim - exposing ourselves to criminal liability for perjury if we lied. But Fani Willis and Nathan Wade never charged us with perjury or even mentioned the lawsuit in their "racketeering" indictment. They constructed their bogus "crime" theories in a fantasy world in which our lawsuit never existed.

Republicans need to focus on domestic policy. Voters care about cost of gas, groceries, homes, etc. because it’s part of their daily lives. We’ve delivered some good wins, but if we don’t deliver on what we promised for the average American, we’ll have the midterms we deserve.
