So, Tales from the Crypt is something a lot of Brits missed out on. I think it was on Sky? And maybe sometimes on Channel 4 in a scattered fashion. Anyway, other than the odd episode here and there, this represents a huge gap in my horror education. Now every episode is on Shudder. I wish I had the time to jump on it from beginning to end... but I don't. So I'm looking for recommendations for which episodes to watch. You tell me your favourites, and I'll watch them. And we've got Kyle MacLachlan post Dune and Blue Velvet and a couple of years away from bringing us Agent Dale Cooper in Twin Peaks. @HorrorCarnival As much as I love Lord of Illusions I gotta give this one to Tales From the Hood. Seeing horror through that particular lens made a big, big impression on me and I think about Boys Do Get Bruised quite often.

@jamesxhorror Big, big fan. A cruel Upper Middle Class British Diabolique. Gough absolutely chews his scenes.

Crucible of Horror (1971) A really well crafted and slow burn paced thriller, Crucible of Horror is a deliciously evil slice of physiological horror. Michael Gough is superb as the iron fisted patriarch of the Eastwood family, regularly dishing out physical and mental torment to his family. A huge departure from his most famous role to me, Alfred Pennyworth in the Batman film run 1989-1997. It’s absolutely not what I was expecting but this is another worthy addition to the Hammer collection and it really has been a joy to discover these films that feel a lot more removed from the infamous classics in their vaults.
