In the midst of war & evil, this barefoot mother brings her daughter for first communion. As satan seems to rule, faith slips this little piece of normalcy into life, saying: "Yes, there is still good in the world!" These little humble moments of grace will be how Christians win.

Tomorrow, May 15th, is the 4th anniversary of St. Charles de Foucauld being canonized by Pope Francis. His is a great story of grace and conversion, and his life of holiness inspired 20 groups of religious orders, priest groups and lay institutes.

@BibleInContext1 Which old Testament: Babylonian canon? Palestinian canon? Alexandrian canon? The Old Testament was not officially canonized until about AD 90 when they CONDEMNED all the new Testament books, so we cannot see that as divinely inspired.

Jesus left us His written Word and the Holy Spirit not the church! It’s the written word and the Holy Spirit that have authority not the church in and of itself!

Tomorrow is Mother's day: Beginning the day with Mass and praying for your mom, or if you are able: With your mom, is a great way to start. “Give me just one generation of good Catholic mothers, and I will change the world.” St. John Chrysostom

Tomorrow is the Feast of St. Catherine of Siena. She is a Doctor of the Church. Interesting fact: Catherine was 24th of 25 children all with the same mother and father. She had 24 siblings. Her famous quote: “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire”

I love the medieval sense of humor. They carved this into a Cathedral above one of the doors into the Church. Abbey of Sainte Foy, Conques, France. A.D. 1050.

@roddreher I didn't understand their language: Dispensationalism, Preterism, Postmillinarism, rapture. These were bizarre foreign words that I never understood.

@FrCescoofmcap It would be interesting to read the red notes in the Roman Missal for this.

The Zaire Rite is so beautiful 🤩 The Zaire Rite, or "Roman Missal for the Dioceses of Zaire," is a valid, Vatican-approved (1988) liturgical form of the Roman Rite for the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is a key example of inculturation, integrating African cultural expressions—like lively music, dancing, and specialized ministries—into the Mass, focusing on vibrant worship while maintaining Catholic doctrine.#CatholicTwitter

@JamTrev People become overly dogmatic about “Paschal Vigil has to happen late at night”, and then celebrate the Good Friday Liturgy at 7pm and Christmas Midnight Mass at 10pm.

O God, who on this day, through your Only Begotten Son, have conquered death and unlocked for us the path to eternity, grant, we pray, that we who keep the solemnity of the Lord’s Resurrection may, through the renewal brought by your Spirit, rise up in the light of life.

All-powerful and ever-living God, your only Son went down among the dead and rose again in glory. In your goodness raise up your faithful people, buried with him in baptism, to be one with him in the eternal life of heaven

Sunday is the Lord's Day. It is for God, Rest, Family, and community. We stop working and rest. This is a revolutionary idea in a secular culture. Join the Revolution
