Tomorrow, May 15th, is the 4th anniversary of St. Charles de Foucauld being canonized by Pope Francis. His is a great story of grace and conversion, and his life of holiness inspired 20 groups of religious orders, priest groups and lay institutes.

@BibleInContext1 Which old Testament: Babylonian canon? Palestinian canon? Alexandrian canon? The Old Testament was not officially canonized until about AD 90 when they CONDEMNED all the new Testament books, so we cannot see that as divinely inspired.

Jesus left us His written Word and the Holy Spirit not the church! It’s the written word and the Holy Spirit that have authority not the church in and of itself!

Tomorrow is the Feast of St. Catherine of Siena. She is a Doctor of the Church. Interesting fact: Catherine was 24th of 25 children all with the same mother and father. She had 24 siblings. Her famous quote: “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire”

@roddreher I didn't understand their language: Dispensationalism, Preterism, Postmillinarism, rapture. These were bizarre foreign words that I never understood.

When I was a Catholic, I noticed often how the intellectual worlds of Cathos & Evangelicals rarely crossed. W/exception of Tim Keller, I didn't know who the Evo public intellectuals were. My intellectual Evo friends were equally in the dark about Catho public intellectuals. Odd.
