We're grateful that Bishop Fellay warned the members of the SSPX that they'll probably be excommunicated after the July 1 consecrations. It's time for his followers to leave the SSPX and rejoin the Catholic Church, because they will be risking eternal damnation if they don't. Fellay's warning shows that he accepts the authority of Rome to excommunicate. If that's the case, why doesn't Fellay accept the pope's authority without reservation and call off the consecrations?

Uhhh..... Iran "informed" the president that they were in a "state of collapse"? Someone apparently forgot to inform Iran itself, bc 14 min after President Trump posted this, Iranian news service ISNA announced Iran's Army was deployed around the country ready for more war. This appears to be another social media post disconnected from any observed reality. States don't "inform" their opponents of a collapse during wartime. Further, if there was a state of collapse, then Iran would no longer be able to control the Strait, and thus traffic would now be flowing out, unhindered by the IRGC. Yet, that does not appear to be the case, as there are presently zero reports of a collapse of the Iranian state. There is a way to get the SOH open, however, but it will only happen when *both* blockades are removed. That will only happen when Washington is willing to enter into a give-and-take diplomatic engagement with Tehran, meaning both sides will have to come out with something they want. And just to emphasize the obvious: that would require President Trump to *give* something of value to Iran in order to *get* something of value from Iran. So far the president has only been willing to *demand* submission by Iran. The longer that behavior continues, the longer Iran will NOT unilaterally submit by opening the Strait to US-desired traffic. It remains that both blockades will have to be lifted, and that ALL traffic, Arab and Persian, will be free to travel - or the blockades will continue.

This is a continuation of a bad misreading of the 1973 war powers act. This perpetuates the error that a president has 60 days to do whatever he wants with the military, and only then must he approached Congress. The law unequivocally states that the president must get permission from Congress BEFORE sending one troop into combat against another country. Period. Not one day later, not 60 days later, BEFORE. There are only three instances where the Commander and chief may send armed forces into combat against another country, and that is 1), a congressional declaration of war has been issued, 2), a specific statutory authorization has been granted by Congress, or 3), the US or its Armed Forces have been physically attacked by another country. And that is it. The 60 day requirement kicks in AFTER our armed forces have been legally entered into a conflict, and then the Commander chief has a 60 day reporting requirement. That’s what the law actually says. But no one ever holds the present accountable, whether this one, or the six or seven presidents that preceded him. This is a bitter fruit of ignoring the law when it was inconvenient. Now we have someone in office who will do whatever he wants, regardless of any law, and now the entire country is paying for it with this absurd war in Iran and the emergence of economic damage that is only now beginning to manifest.

There are only about 10 Republicans in the House right now that are refusing to vote to reauthorize FISA without warrant requirements and a few other changes. The rest of them are completely fine with voting to give your tax payer funded government the ability to spy on you without having to get a warrant first. Trump said he will give up his rights for FISA and is demanding Republicans “ just pass it” even after FISA was used to secretly spy on his campaign and had been used against hundreds of thousands of Americans. The betrayals are increasingly so bad. I don’t know how they face their constituents.
