@chloepatti1 @fireshoes I'm still not 100% sure tbh. I'm leaning towards yes atm. The format is fast and hostile towards Goryo's. Messing around with alternative ways to Reanimate is just so slow and often gets you blown out. Gran-Gran helps you do busted things faster, and blocks Ocelot pride well.

This is a throwback to before there were so many ways to bling out your cards. You had foils or alternate languages, period. The competitive choice was often either Japanese or Russian, as it kept your cards looking cool while not pringling.

confession: i do not understand why so many mtg players, esp comp grinders, buy cards in languages they do not speak/understand (usually japanese sometimes chinese) is it jsut because we're weebs or is it a flex that you don't need to read the card to know what it does

See this is the thing, cEDH is a great part of the EDH format, it pushes the limits of something so vast to be super fun The issues really arise when you push it into a tournament format (i.e. Draws, 4th seat win rates) The "tEDH" grinders will never convince me otherwise 😭😭
