Ever overbet the turn with a set on QJT9 with a flush draw? A great episode of @thinkingpoker daily explains why you should.

I’d be a fan of a full ban of electronics at the poker table. Sounds extreme, but with tech advancements, full ban seems cleanest. Would be great socially too, making the playing experience more fun & faster. Logistics would be tough but doable. Chess has been there for years

@stevemjr20 @nut_history Rolen is clearly deserving of the Hall. Only 18 3d basemen in, and he is about 10th among them. Try Pie Traynor or George Kell.

@jeremyausmus This is exactly what I do. For amateurs you will likely notice a much better return in the lower stuff.

It would definitely be really interesting to see the ROIs of a lot of pros in poker. But something that would be even more interesting would be a buyin return per entry number. A number like that normalizes the buy-ins so if someone ran really good at high stakes or vice versa that would get teased out. Instead of return on investment, it's their return on entries. A lot of poker players don't keep good records tho and this number even less keep, I'm sure (although easy to figure out with a spreadsheet if they have all their data). Naturally this number is lower the higher stakes someone plays so it's not perfect either. But everyone wants to know who the actual best players are and this would give us a clearer picture of that.

This has so many problems I cannot even fit them into a single tweet, but nobody should be okay with a dealer not getting rewarded compared to their colleagues because they dealt a disproportionate amount of coolers to people in the seniors tournament or the colossus or whatever.

@incarceratedbob The postscript to this HR was that Camp then gave up 5 runs the next inning, but the Braves rallied and he came to the plate as the tying run the next inning...and struck out.

@tangotiger Just for kicks, I looked at Rube Waddell. Didn't start out great, but for 2 years (04-05) he had 631Ks out of 2534 PAs, in a time when players did not strike out like they do today.

Ohtani has 712 career strikeouts, facing 2284 batters Since 1969 (and I can confidently say since forever), that is the highest number for a starting pitcher to start a career

@Three4Three @dklappin @daraokearney @pokerorg Because I disagree with the premise that there is something unethical/illegal about using time chips for stalling in order to get a pay jump. Also, without time chips, the bustout occurs at the end of the hand, not the start. Why should it be different w/time chips?

IMO if you get time banks, you should be able to use them however you want. How will this be enforced? Are we going to have TDs looking at player’s holdings and deciding whether or not they had a tough spot? If so, that would be a ridiculous overstep. 🔗 poker.org/latest-news/ws…

@BBGreatMoments Bush league but also a teaching moment for the catcher, stand at home plate with the ball and ask for time. The umpire will get tired of it and walk over to tell the coach to teach his runner not to bait. We don't wanna be here all day waiting for him to go back to the bag.

Anyone going to the WSOP this year needs to be aware of new rules. Including the need to register & obtain approval, for any logos over 24 hours before the start of any event. Not ideal if you only find out you are on a TV table an hour before! Also stuff like swapping action could theoretically land you in trouble.
PokerListings@PokerListings

The @WSOP just changed its 2026 rules. And the poker community isn't happy. Here's what's new 👇 Prop bets, action swaps, last longers — all now potentially banned under a new third-party payment rule. Violate it? Forfeit everything. WSOP decides what counts. Sponsorship patches at TV tables now need written approval 24 hours in advance. No approval = instant disqualification. The problem: players never know which table goes on camera. Is the WSOP protecting the game — or overstepping? Full breakdown on PokerListings — pokerlistings.com/news/is-the-ti… #WSOP #WSOP2026 #PokerNews #OnlinePoker #PokerCommunity

@spida2Ybanana @FDSportsbook Seems obviously wrong. You don’t think any recently retired mlb players, anyone in the minor leagues, any D1 baseball player etc. hasnt stumbled along this tweet. You’re insane if you think that in 100 pitches that a kid on like LSU isn’t going to put the ball in play.
