Finally saw One Battle After Another. If you can put aside the crazy leftist bogeyman ideation and awful caricatures — Sean Penn really won an Oscar for that? — it was as entertaining as any piece of propaganda could be.

@MALGIS31 @Jared_Carrabis i thought about this too, but the bottom line is the WBC is still largely an unknown entity to the average person who doesnt watch sports. the olympics is the complete opposite, hugely popular even among those who dont have an interest in sports

@Jared_Carrabis Why does literally every other international sport have Americans rooting them on in international tournaments but for some reason many of those Americans don’t root on the Baseball national team? Why does the national pride stop with baseball? That makes no sense to me.

I don’t think Team USA didn’t care. They were businesslike in their demeanor, sure. I think the narrative is that it’s hard for USA fans to care as much as other countries because their fandom lies with their MLB teams whereas other countries’ fans only have their national teams.
Justice delos Santos@justdelossantos

Logan Webb (re: Team USA): "I feel like there's a narrative that we didn't care. That's complete bullshit. I think we probably cared the most out of every team, to be honest with you. We do things in different ways than some of the other teams, but we care a lot."

@vladbkn @ChimpDei More blacks kill eachother in a year than the KKK ever did in its entire history. Why don’t the Asians struggle as much as the blacks? The Americans didn’t drop two atomic bombs on Africa prior to all of this either

@ChimpDei countless terr*rist attacks to destabilize black communities like the tulsa race massacre wouldn’t have occured if blacks weren’t doing well. blacks did well until the kkk, cia & others intervened & destroyed their communities. you stupid jew.

@vladbkn @Jordan_Patu actual US culture, which is white, is fantastic. what sucks is that we're dragged down by the useless 3rd world savages who have invaded us

@JakeWallinger I was actively and unapologetically rooting for the USA to be embarrassed. It’s beyond embarrassing to have an ounce of support for this fascist shithole country. The poetic finish of Vz denying the arrogance of the US a title is just chefs kiss

@BNightengale As a Chicago guy, I wouldn’t mind Milwaukee having a part in this. A lot of latin and international culture between both of our cities. Chicagoans travel well (well cubs fans)

For the first time at loanDepot Park in Miami. after an emotional and electrifying WBC, there is silence. There’s no doubt they should always play as many WBC games as possible in Miami, and always the semifinals and finals

@BNightengale As long as there is a latin American team playing. If it had been USA vs Japan it would have been a decidedly less attended/raucus crowd.

@BrockTurdy13 @pyramuscrypto @MickOKeeffe more than anything im rational. if actual white irishmen become a minority in their own country, the order will eventually fall apart. look at what happened to rhodesia once blacks took over as the leadership

It's genuinely such a strange feeling to see St Patrick's Day parades all over the world full of Irish people, but at home in Ireland this is what we are subjected to. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this is absolutely ridiculous.

@MickOKeeffe Are you mad that they aren't assimilating into the drunk Irish stereotypes and are instead just Christians celebrating a Christian saint on that saint's day? Hand them a Guinness I guess

@BTC_Bash @killingvector @GerryCallahan White people obviously. But go ahead and keep throwing yourself at the feet of people who hate you. Your children (whose kidding you’re probably childless) will be doomed to a fate you couldn’t imagine

I guess when we let 8 million Venezuelans into the country in the last 5 years, it’s no surprise they have home field advantage in Miami. #wbc

@BarstoolNate I like how traveling is what you consider the great life accomplishment you chase. You’ll be a single, door dashing, masturbating, childless chud for the rest of your life and its traveling that youre fixated on as the example of your accomplishment-lacking life

Are there any good books about how we're allowed to just...do stuff as humans? It's a concept I think about a lot but am pretty bad at in practice. I haven't traveled nearly as much as I want to, I often hold back from trying new things, etc. Then one day you die. Life is odd.
