Madam Lavanya, seems more interested in selective outrage than understanding the legal position. It was Muslim girl students themselves who approached the Karnataka High Court, and the High Court clearly held that hijab is not an essential religious practice under Islam in the context of educational institutions. The matter is still pending before the Supreme Court. Funny how lectures about “women’s modesty” suddenly appear now, but there was complete silence on issues like TCS conversion controversies. Selective activism wrapped in moral preaching is becoming too predictable.
