A few things to keep the peaceful energy flowing: - Give your body easy fuel before stress takes charge. - Keep your sugar to caffeine ratio on the generous side. - Eat a little earlier in the day so the afternoon doesn’t get dramatic. - Add some salt if you feel shaky, flat, or weirdly wired. - Double inhale through the nose, then a long slow exhale through pursed lips. - Take one real break before you desperately need three. - Reduce noise and bright light for a few minutes if you can. - Clench your fists or feet hard, then release on the exhale. - Shake out your shoulders and arms like you’re clearing water off. - Warm your hands or feet if you feel wired and cold at the same time. - Plant your feet flat and rock side to side until you feel steady again. - Have a quick carb + protein + salt snack between tasks. - Sip Coke with milk and sugar (or icecream) when you need calm energy. - Stress is often just a fuel problem. - Give the body fuel, and the panic has less to say. Less strain. More fuel. Better breath. More warmth.

I was just talking to one of my middle eastern friends who told me the more communal family aspect of middle eastern families actually provide more enabling for abusive spouses and parents to get away with their behavior. The Chios massacre of 1822: Approximately 42,000–50,000 Greek Orthodox Christians were killed and over 50,000 sold into slavery by the Ottoman Turks. It’s like they think they’re the first person to discover ideologies or positions all have tradeoffs, and because they’re not perfect it’s better to stand against them all. It’s as childish as it is false. A few minute conversation with anyone who puts on this front will quickly reveal which ideologies they feel are above such critiques.
