65% of Canadians have no personal title to property. Every Haida has title to ~1250 acres of land. The Haida (pop. 2200) get $100 million a year from taxpayers but pay no taxes.

@b185324 @JimMcMurtry01 Contribute zero? Around 67 billion of Canadas GDP comes from Indigenous people. Also Inuit and Métis pay the same taxes as everyone else, and most First Nations pay the same too. Our only tax exempt money is income/ gains earned on reserve.

@JimMcMurtry01 That’s misleading. Indigenous title isn’t the same as private ownership, and Haida rights come from historic occupation and legal recognition—not a taxpayer handout. Use accurate figures and understand the difference between rights, land, and government programs.

Fully separating Alberta from Canada would take many years, or even decades, because it requires an initial public vote, complex negotiations to change the national constitution, & agreement from the federal government & other provinces. Upcoming vote is set for October 19, 2026
