@IuliaL27 I find it interesting how racists think. A black person ascending to a position of power and influence is always race based or DEI but if its a white person its merit based. I grew up under apartheid, do you know how broken our society was under those leaders until Mandela? Stop

I'm not interested in South Africa just because it's heartbreaking to watch a nation with so much raw potential get hollowed out, though it is. I'm interested in South Africa because it's a warning of what happens when you replace merit with race, when grievance becomes policy, when forgiveness is skipped and revenge is dressed up as justice, and when you stop seeing individuals and start seeing groups. That's not a South African problem. That's a human one. And the West is not as far from it as it thinks.

@ashco25 @Yanga_Co Many BEE-linked infrastructure and service projects collapse due to lack of capacity, skills, or accountability. Road construction, water treatment, hospitals (Tembisa looting). SOEs like Eskom and Transnet suffered under BEE/cadre deployment, leading to load-shedding.

30% isnt for free, if starlink needs cables and towers to function local 30% can install them and get paid. including any material he will buy in SA is part of 30%. even employees he hire is part of 30%. typical example if ur building a road 30% is for material u buy from local suppliers, local sub contractors doing actual work and u pay them. wen they add all the expenditure it should amount to 30%. it doesnt mean he will give anyone for free. unless he chose to give such percentage away for free its up to him.

@News24 Corruption Comrades.. If the goal were genuine empowerment, you'd expect oversight, anti-fronting enforcement, and competition. Not higher barriers that reward insiders. supercharges the opportunities for it by making state contracts an even more closed shop for the connected few

@TheRealsiyaG @News24 You as dumb as nails sorry. Tightening the BEE screw like this doesn't curb corruption, it supercharges the opportunities for it by making state contracts an even more closed shop for the connected few. You will never see a tender in your life 100% guaranteed.

@News24 As they should. Most black South Africans are loyal tò this country and don't have dual citizenship. This will ensure money stays in our shores instead of a white company getting the tender. Moving money offshore and then still coming back to badmouth the South African government

Morning @Waldimar, could you please clarify the reasoning behind the use of “Robert Sobukwe” in place of Graaff-Reinet on kykNET’s weather segment? Was this change driven by a government directive, or was it an editorial decision made by the channel itself? I see on the Ontbytsake YouTube channel that it is still Graaff Reinet. Am I missing something?

Here is a documentary show you the things you did not see or hear. It was a crime to not have a job in apartheid so most people had jobs. Today 60% youth unemployed

It’s their mentality. They should be proud of Elon. Born in South Africa. I think they believe they are entitled. I agree during apartheid they were given no opportunities. I still think the hold this against the white South Africans. Nelson Mandela was a great leader, probably one of the greatest. When he came into a power , the very first thing he did was unite the country. There should be no discrimination against any race or gender or religion. This seemed to work initially but once he died it reverted back to that discrimination. It’s very sad because Zimbabwe took away the farms of white farmers and gave it to the Africans. This was the worst decision ever. Unfortunately the Africans had no experience in farming and never produced any crops. A sad truth

This is out of South Africa but This is NOT what MOST S. Africans even look like. Most are white. A HUGE country this has no actual reflection of the average person. The land is rich in countless natural Resources. Political Unrest & issues there that began ages ago. Elon didn't grow up on this way. His father had an Emerald mine.

@tylavender777 @elonmusk Erm because the law BEE a racelaw wants him to give 30-51% of his company to a black elite. How is that not racism? Imagine being born white, this law applies to all white people. This is racism. Also BEE law is just a front for corruption for 100 elite people in South Africa.

Gang members openly held a street party in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain, Cape Town…mocking arriving SANDF soldiers and showing little fear of law enforcement. The incident has raised concerns over SAPS intelligence failures, as authorities were reportedly unaware until residents and activists reported it, highlighting ongoing challenges despite the military deployment on the Cape Flats.
