@madisonkelleyp I don’t know if my seasonal depression will be better, but my golf game and my mental sanity from my kid being able to go outside and play certainly will.
English

@shellieabq @Writer_Luau @madisonkelleyp School starting later defeats the purpose of changing the clock to daylight time because then school goes an hour later anyways. At that point you’re just relabeling the clock but the schedule still matches what it was before in terms of sunlight
English

@Writer_Luau @madisonkelleyp It’s definitely warmer during the afternoon winter where I live. School can start later. Change is alright. I’m currently at a 3/10 on the coping scale….
English

@UltraMAGAnon_ @EudaimoniaEsq The months are still cold dark and miserable no matter how you relabel the clock
English

@EudaimoniaEsq When people think about standard time they are thinking about Christmas, they aren’t thinking about the two cold miserable months that follow
English

Seeing more hate of DST in light of this (ha) and I just don’t get it. Do you people like the sun setting at 5:00 pm? Why do so many people like standard time? It’s kinda nice and cozy for the holidays but beyond that it’s just depressing. Who likes standard time?

BREAKING: The House has passed legislation to make Daylight Saving Time permanent nationwide, ending the twice-a-year clock changes by a 308-117 vote. Backed by President Trump, the bill now heads to the Senate. If approved and signed into law, Americans would no longer have to change their clocks.
English

@kerrydougherty So change the time on the clocks so we can also change the time school, work, etc. start… making the time change useless…
English

Change the time school starts. There. Problem solved.
Brian Onorio@brianonorio
This would be dumb. We’d send kids to school in the dark in January. Just get over it. Changing clocks twice a year is a no big deal. Y’all act like you’ve never *checks notes* took a flight to the central time zone.

Instead of having Anglican and Catholic churches awkwardly using milquetoast Byzantine iconography, such styles should be elevated more often by all churches in the West.
Catholike@SarumCatholike
We need English iconography accessible the way Eastern iconography is

@sapphicnightowl @PunishedCersox Mary consented. Famously so. Countless saints and theologians have written endlessly about “all creation holding its breath waiting for Mary’s response to the angel” and the importance of her Fiat. This is grossly wrong.
English

@PunishedCersox Yeah, we definitely have to thank Christianity for inventing consent for sex... remind me again, how old was Mary when your god raped and impregnated her with your prophet?
English

No Patrick, being a decent human being is not "internalized Christian morality"

is called internalized christian morality

@FatherNaugle @BeGreatSaints “The lamps are going out all over Europe. We shall not see them lit again in our lifetime” - Sir Edward Grey on the day the UK declared war on Germany in WW1.
Look at the pre-war world vs now. The lamps still haven’t come back on.
English

@BeGreatSaints The world wars were definitely the work of the evil one.

@JDoming3 @TaylorRMarshall If you think the pope is a false pope, why are you defending & claiming the SSPX, who claim to be in union with someone you think is a false pope? They are not sedevacantists.
English

@TaylorRMarshall This "Pope" has excommuicated himself on several occasions along with numerous other clergy & hierarchy & "Popes". We will continue to practice the ONE TRUE FAITH in the same way as all of the saints and faithful have done for over 2000 years.

I keep seeing "flags of the Anglosphere" that try to mash up a bunch of different coats of arms or national symbols and they wind up looking way too busy with none of the actual meaning behind complex medieval heraldry. An "ethnic" flag would be better, but obviously just using England would be confusing. I think it should be something like this.
Most of the flags of the Anglosphere have some kind of cross on them, usually more than one. I've gone with a saltire to represent all four corners of the world. English colours but inverted (and also at least two of the colours on every Anglosphere flag). St. Andrew's cross (and being an inverted St. Patrick's cross) is explicitly saying the Scotch-Irish are part of this too. Even continental Saxons use red and white ("Saxon Steed" coats of arms in Germany and Twente)

@Nyigi_ @OlindPaul A much more individualistic culture. Changes mindsets deeply.
English

@OlindPaul How can neopentecostalism cause a decline in football prowess? I'm genuinely curious.

@shagbark_hick @TridentineBrew In my experience in a part of the Great Plains, wherever a Society chapel exists, a Fraternity parish is within 30 a minute drive, and there are a few diocesans in places the Society doesn’t exist
English

@TridentineBrew Is this true in the Midwest? Interesting if so. In NY it's not the case almost anywhere. Basically everywhere there's a Society priory, there's a Diocesan TLM somewhere close.
English

@CLoftson85537 @gansotonto73 Which is to say, both are outside, but one has an extra barrier
English

@CLoftson85537 @gansotonto73 Excommunication is a legal penalty. One is outside the Church, the other is outside the Church and has a penalty attached to it. There’s a reason the Pope lifted the excommunication on the EO but they’re still not considered a part of the Catholic Church.
