Blackwolf Run River, WI Pete Dye State park setting made for a relaxing round on a very rainy day. The OG holes are solid & "newer" holes are additive. In my Matt Foley voice, holes "down by the river" were fun. Love that the river is in play, wish it was not just on the right.

@Top100Rick The UFC has bonuses it awards for “fight of the night” which provides incentives to fighters to make the fight enjoyable for fans. It would be interesting if something like this existed so players were incentivized for riskier shots that would provide great TV

“Anthony Kim taking a risk here that I think is unnecessary”. AK was 3 back when he made the shot of the tournament. This could have easily led to double. The STONES to go for this. He had no business trying, laying up was the math play no doubt. But he went for it. Bogey here and the whole round changes most likely. We need more players willing to lay it out on the line. We need more fist pumps and more passion. We need more firm turf and relevant trees. Today was so refreshing.

Go try the Sam Burns method next time you play. Before each putt, he grips his putter left-hand-low, then quickly returns to a conventional grip. This helps him level his shoulders before making his stroke. If the number one putter in the world is doing it, maybe you should pay attention…

@SHistorians I don’t know what going public like Player did hopes to accomplish. Seems like a strategy to win fleeting support from the public that will soon be forgotten and burn and bridge of members with long memories.

I will also say this- if I was a member at ANGC- Gary Player would not be on the tee box on Thursday. And I say that with the highest respect to his playing career. I would want my honorary starters to have the highest regards for the Masters and ANGC. It’s a harsh take, but this isn’t the first time either. Nicklaus, Watson and Crenshaw off the top of my head…if Langer has hung up his spikes, he would be an amazing addition. @TheMasters

I have a lot of respect for Gary Players’ place in the history of the game. He has won 9 majors (same as Ben Hogan) and only trails Walter Hagen, Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus in majors won. That being said, I disagree with this public method of protesting Augusta National’s decision. They are a private club and he is not a member. An invite is a privilege, not a given.

People are very dismissive about AI and its impacts. Those people are likely using @Copilot. When I see results like this from Copilot, I believe AI is leveraging Sun Tzu’s deception strategy to “appear weak when when strong”. Copilot is the tip of the spear to “appearing weak”
