Most of the Guernsey clergy and licensed lay ministers after the Chrism Eucharist service at St Andrew’s church - an opportunity to gather at the beginning of Holy Week, renew our commitment to ministry and the people we serve, and share a meal together.

A beautiful - and realistic - message from Leo to Sarah which it behoves well for all Anglicans and Roman Catholics to read, study and share. ❤️

The Dean escorts the royal party to the door; the Archbishop will continue into Canterbury to greet the Mayor and bless the city. It’s unclear yet when she will receive the corporate obedience of the Chapter and Foundation, and be seated in the Chapter House.

And the live tweeting begins. Looks like the bishops (in a sea of scarlet chimeres) are entering Canterbury Cathedral.

Spring is sprung. Guernsey is gloriously awash with daffodils in all shapes and sizes and varieties of colour. Some in crowds. Some alone. Just like her human inhabitants.

@samuel_leeds You could set up a National Church Trust and replicate what the National Trust did for stately homes. People would subscribe.

I wanna buy churches like this that are shutting down across England. So if you know a church that's for sale and potentially closing down, let me know. I wanna buy a church. I don't care if it's got planning permission to return to flats redeveloped. I don't care. I wanna buy it. I don't care how profitable the conversion will be. If it was built as a church, I believe it needs to stay as a church. I want to save churches like this one from being shut down and sold off to developers all across the UK. I love making profit in property, but when someone's being built as a church to honour Jesus Christ, that's a no no. There's revival coming in England and we need to keep our churches open. Ready for what’s to come. Is this a good idea you would support?

A little medical update with an icon of God’s all Seeing Eye. “Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy.” Well, whilst the eye of the divine is all seeing the right one of this priest is sadly not and the eye requires yet another operation which will be this Saturday. One of my small tears which the second operation was meant to deal with is not playing ball and it’s decided to reopen itself. The consultant said that I should have a stiff word with it so I am having a stiff word with it as I dictate. 😂😂 I am feeling fine. I couldn’t be in better hands. It is absolutely wonderful to have an NHS hospital that specialise in ophthalmology just 2 miles walk from my own house. So God gives and God takes away, et cetera, et cetera. Anyway, please do pray for me as I will have to lie on flat again on my front for another week after this operation. Again, I will need to have 4 to 6 weeks off after this operation also so I’m very sorry to the @parishnw6 @TheOutsider40 and also to the @CamdenLabour group for whom I should be canvassing quite a lot of present. 🌹🌹🌹 But there you go that is life. God of light and healing, you open our eyes to the beauty of your world and gently close them when we need rest. Hold me in your peace, guide the hands of those who care for me, and grant me patience in waiting, courage in healing, and clarity of sight, not only of the eyes, but of the heart. Teach me to be still, to trust your work within me, and to see again your love shining through all things. Blessed are you The All-Seeing one, Unto the ages. Amen

A full church in Alderney for the 80th anniversary of Homecoming, the day when people exiled in 1940 to return to the island. The most moving moment was the playing of ‘There’s no place like home’ on the cornet on which John McCarthy played that time on this day in 1945.

I'm currently in the middle of being shunned and cast off by the church community I've worked hard to serve for the last 7 years. I can confirm that it's an extremely unpleasant and stressful experience. My wife and I have tried to tell them this but they don't care.

At the end of December this account will be taking a break. After 12 years I think you’ve learned everything that can be conveniently taught about Australian Anglican history in this format! I’m hoping to be back around Easter 2026 with something a bit different.
