I have been so focused on Lucy Letby’s horrendous miscarriage of justice lately that I have neglected other cases where the wrongly convicted is 100% factually innocent. #ThirlwallInquiry will be an interesting read. How to defend against efficient, honest and highly competent nurses documenting failings in a unit operating well above its assigned level and logging every problem. Well, we already know how - accuse them of murder and lie in court.

The Lucy Letby debacle gets uglier and uglier. This young nurse is in prison with convictions for killing babies, with the deafening challenges from everywhere she should be released on temporary license with restrictions until an appeal can be heard.

@guyrowlanduk @GrahamTanner121 in this case the defective“evidence” is a case of reaching a conclusion to fit a desired outcome rather than the facts. The legal profession isn’t fit for purpose.

In short a preselected “quack” spouting “expertise” can sway a case that proper peer review would reject as nonsense. Whether its the statistics, insulin test or air injection

The remit of the Thirlwall Inquiry is crystal clear - it will not challenge Lucy Letby's verdicts. So if she is in fact innocent - as now seems highly likely - and those babies were victims of NHS sub-optimal care, the £17m report (and counting) is worthless. 🧵 (1/11)

I have just been called a Holocaust denier by a member of my family. She is no longer a member of my family.

This will be the highest stakes by-election in U.K history. If Burnham wins, he becomes PM, and does so with proof Reform can be beaten. If he loses, Labour become a lame duck government. If Labour's most popular politician can't hold back Reform, no others can claim to.
