NEWS: Buffalo transfer Ryan Sabol has committed to Providence, sources told ESPN. One of the elite shooters in college basketball, Sabol shot 39.9% from 3 on nearly 10 attempts per game. Tied for second nationally in 3s made per game. Averaged 18.8 points and 3.3 assists.

@belleofballpark @Oxnard_M He’s been terrible the last ten days, regression to his mean. Tibbs had a tremendous start to the season, but it was a small sample at the perfect time. The Red Sox already did the Dom Smith thing.

Ken Rosenthal is saying the Red Sox dangled James Tibbs for a CBP prior to the Draft before trading him for Dustin May.
Keith Law is also saying the Red Sox tried tweaking his swing, but the Dodgers ultimately changed it back.
The whole thing feels very botched to me.

This is why the new NCAA rule is good. Get rid of pro/amateur distinction completely and go with age and 5 years.
Or do that and completely disallow any professionals at all. Stop catering to foreign athletes. The purpose of college athletics is not to provide opportunities for universities to make money off foreign professionals over American students.
