A little over three years ago my dad and I were confirmed and received into the Holy Catholic Church at the @UKOrdinariate in London. Now I cannot visit that church anymore, because I got banned from the UK for criticizing Starmer. What a time we live in.

Someday, your descendants will have to try to explain you and posts like this that are solid examples of the diminishing scientific literacy and critical thinking skills in today’s society.

@DonnieDetroit19 @GrossWeather It's the coming Ice Age! As predicted back the 70's by Leonard Nimoy on In Search Of!

@_ClimateCraze @TakeThatClouds You clearly don’t know what data or opinions are, or what data implies. You can’t claim this marvellous greening at the same time as a CO2 famine.

@_ClimateCraze @TakeThatClouds Your graph is not about “greening” though is it? It’s specifically about cereal production. The African point may be relevant as drought resistance is important.

@TimLeightonCATS @TakeThatClouds Easy answers. 1 - Asia is greening fastest because they produce the majority of CO2. 2 - Africa is greening faster than we thought because plants need less water with higher CO2 levels - making then drought resistant. Africa is huge - and produces huge results.

@_ClimateCraze @TakeThatClouds This is total bollocks and a prize example of false argument. Everyone knows you can force plants by adding CO2. But from 1500-1900 average CO2 was around 280ppm and pretty stable compared with today’s 420+. During that time the great forests of the American NE, the rainforests .

@UKnowwho222 @TakeThatClouds @_ClimateCraze You may well be right. I hope so. Climate science has hugely progressed but it’s still dealing with very complex systems and depends on probabilities to the extent that outcomes and timeframes are very uncertain. People find uncertainty hard.

@TimLeightonCATS @TakeThatClouds @_ClimateCraze I’m happy to converse with anyone who offers thoughtful, well supported arguments. The climate is changing & human activity likely has some — limited — influence on it. But I don’t think any of the doomsday predictions are well supported, nor are most of the proposed mitigations.

@UKnowwho222 @TakeThatClouds @_ClimateCraze You clearly won’t want to converse with me then. I predict that within 10-20 yrs it will be clear to all that it does pose an existential threat, not least because of massive population migration. Also if the AMOC does collapse within 100 years we’ll have the climate of Labrador.

@TakeThatClouds @_ClimateCraze They don’t seem to understand the word “net”. Net zero means humans aim not to add any extra CO2, either by reducing emissions or balancing emit emissions with carbon sequestration. The plants will be just fine.

@_ClimateCraze People who think that “net zero” means reducing CO₂ to zero are too idiotic to converse with.

@MarthaJohn1679 @newstart_2024 And which ideological shackles are trapping you my dear? The same ones as have trapped women for centuries. I’m not sure you understand the word “liberated”. I suggest you read (properly read) Simone de Beauvoir, Betty Friedan, Germaine Greer . .

@newstart_2024 I can't stand "liberated" women. I've tuned them out for decades. They sneer at the things that matter. Home, family, children, being useful and contributing to the public good. They equate it to slavery, never seeing the ideologic shackles that trap themselves.

The guy just landed a spacecraft on a comet — one of the most impressive scientific achievements in years. His reward? A public struggle session because his bowling shirt had scantily clad women on it. Helen Andrews points out the quiet cost of institutional feminization: HR departments now hunt down any maverick personality and stamp it out. We’re losing innovators we’ll never even know about, all because someone focused on the shirt instead of the comet. This is how wokeness actually works. Have you seen real excellence get punished for something trivial like this?

@JamesCapell3 @jimmyfingtommo In summary, high humidity at various altitudes will often produce persistent contrails. Commercial air traffic has increased by at least 10% over the US since 2000. Warmer oceans increase atmospheric humidity. These factors produce more contrails & more cloud at lower altitudes

@JamesCapell3 @jimmyfingtommo Since then many people have seen contrail formation as a problem. The military don’t like them as they give away the position of aircraft. Others have been concerned that they add to the stock of cirrus cloud and thus can contribute to climate change. I could go on at length but
