President Trump has the power to convene the Senate under Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution “on extraordinary Occasions.” If a department with 260,000 employees (DHS) going unfunded isn’t an “extraordinary occasion”—especially while the Senate is out on a two-week recess during that shutdown with no plans to resolve the impasse beyond “we’ll deal with that in two weeks”—I don’t know what is.

Purchased something for a project that required a 2” hole saw. Convinced myself that the hole saw I had at home was less than 2”, and couldn’t verify anyway. Purchase 2” hole saw. Drive home, get to the point in the project where I needed to use the new hole saw. Use it. After opening the new hole saw and using it, I happened to think he maybe I’ll see what size the hole saw I already had was. 2”. Open up the item I needed the hole saw for in the first place. Item included a 2” hole saw. Now I have three 2” hole saws. A certified glut of 2” hole saws. If anybody needs a 2” hole saw let me know.

The market is front-running fiscal dominance, it knows the debt math is impossible without devaluation. They are dumping paper promises (stocks/bonds) to buy things that actually exist, like metals. I’ve only seen this "Correlation-1" event three times: 1: Just before the Dot Com bust (2000). 2: Just before the GFC imploded (2007). 3: The Repo market blowout (2019). Every single time, the economists said that demand is strong. And every single time, we were in a recession within 6 months. When the industrial metals and the precious metals start going up together, the party is over. I’ve been in macro for 20+ years, and I’ve built a free guide on what to do in these conditions. Okay... I'm going to sound like real-life @ChrchCurmudgeon here, but here goes... If you are a church musician, and you honestly want to "lead people in worship" through music, you may want to do the following: 1) Pick a singable key for the median person who doesn't sing all the time. Don't pick a key to highlight your voice. 2) Lower the volume so people can hear the voices of those around them, and themselves. 3) Let people sing the melodies that are familiar to them. While you may want to jazz up or do the latest CCM twist of "Hark the Herald" or "Silent Night"--people can't follow you. They just want to sing the song. Picking keys to highlight your voice; playing at concert volume; doing creative rearrangements to make the familiar suddenly unfamiliar... all discourage us from singing. There's NOTHING wrong with highlighting your voice, or playing at concert volume, or doing creative rearrangements of songs... if you are a performer. Book a gig somewhere! Play out! Be great! Build a following! But please, when we all get together and sing, don't put up barriers to stop us.
