@TimOlney10 @Matthew56193629 The argument treats science’s willingness to change as a weakness. But updating based on new evidence is precisely what makes science reliable. A map that gets corrected as explorers discover more is better than one that never changes.

@TimOlney10 @Matthew56193629 Scripture’s unchanging nature is a feature of a fixed text, not proof of eternal truth. A map that never gets corrected isn’t holy. It’s just outdated.

@DrDRD21 @Matthew56193629 Sorry, but no man can ever duplicate the life God puts into things. It's not the book, it's the Living Word who wrote the book. The "book" points to the King of all kings. Believe in Jesus Christ today so you too can have eternal life.

@TimOlney10 @Matthew56193629 Scientists can’t duplicate a blade of grass’ — we also couldn’t fly 120 years ago. ‘Not yet’ and ‘never’ are very different words. Christianity can’t tell us anything descriptive, predictable, or testable about the grass. But enjoy wallowing in your Bronze Age book

If a person believes in Jesus Christ, then they know they have eternal life. How do we know this? God said so. Assurance is in God's Word, not any person's thoughts or feelings. If you believe in the Son, well then, you're born of God and you have the Son and have eternal life. If you don't believe in the Son, then you don't have eternal life. (1 John 5:1-13) It's really simple. Assurance of eternal life is in Christ, not in yourself or what you do or have done. Assurance is rock solid if you believe what God says.

Calvinism is the idea that God has the power to save all people, but he prefers to eternally damn many if not most people to hell. The Calvinist has no objective assurance of salvation because he does not know objectively whether God prefers to save him or not.

I happen to know Him personally. Matter of fact, I speak with Him every day. You believe what you want, but every man will answer to Jesus Christ when every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that He is Lord of all. You've been given the opportunity to believe in Him and receive eternal life. You have no excuse. You certainly don't have to believe in Him...your choice. All of the martyrs who died in the last 2000 years died confessing Him as Lord. No man dies for a lie. Remember that. Blessings to you and yours. I pray that you'll come to know Him as Lord and Savior someday.

GREAT Post @rootcausesleuth Some of these people just don't have a relationship with God. They don't interact with Him because they think He's "somewhere up there" or they think in "engineering" terms, or try and use words and meanings that are simply not in scripture. That's a natural man who thinks natural things. And if someone thinks that God controls everything like a puppet master, then simply put, they don't need God or know Him intimately. Blessings to all.

God created you for a purpose, @TrickyDicky1989 . You're not here by happenstance. He knew the day would come. You know the world is getting worse by the day when people call good evil and evil good, but He wants to save you from it. He knew you and formed you, and has been waiting for this day. He's drawing you to Him. And deep inside, you know it. You can't get away from Him because He's going to continue drawing you. You know something's not right. Oh, the glimmer and glamour of the world is there, but that will be coming to an end. That uneasy feeling in your heart at times is Him letting you know things aren't right between you and Him. But He wants to reconcile and give you a new life. A life that will give you joy that's unspeakable. He created you to be part of the family, and He's calling out to you to provide you with a new life and peace. Let me know when you believe in Him for eternal life. It's going to happen. He's waiting for you.

Pierre, I'm not going to argue with you about specifics. Jesus died and rose again in order to give you a new life. His life. Read the verse John 3:16, and where the word "whoever/whosoever" is, substitute your name...Pierre. He's speaking to you personally. He's willing to forgive you of all sins, make sure that you never die, and give you a quality of life you've never experienced before. Taste and see that God is good. It costs you nothing. He's drawing you, Pierre, or you wouldn't be in this conversation. When you lay your head down to sleep, you know it. You can try and deny it, but deep inside you know there's something tugging at your heart. He is the most Person you will ever meet.

@TimOlney10 @Matthew56193629 That's not dying, it's a bad weekend. Friday evening to Sunday morning is 1-1/2 days, not 3. Again, repetition makes zombies repeat te catch-phrases.

He did die. He was in the grave for 3 days. He rose from the dead in order to give you life and life abundantly and have a relationship with Him. Sorry, not one of those programmed ones. There is no nonsense. Once you believe, you'll see. And you'll never be the same, Pierre. I can't wait because He's been waiting for you. He is the answer to everything. I'm telling you...I used to think it was nonsense and then He kept drawing me to Him. Wow. And He's drawing you to Him as well....and you know it. Don't fight it.

@TimOlney10 @Matthew56193629 You didn't answer my question. Reneging on the deal and living is not "dying for my sins". Staying dead is doing something. I see that you are a programmed zombie who doesn't see the nonsense in these words.

He paid the price for YOU...so that you wouldn't have to. Then He resurrected from the dead and is alive right now. He's been waiting for you. He wants to change your life. I promise you He will change your life. Before He changed my life, I was a rough character. Wow. Can't stop saying what a wonderful God we serve.

@TimOlney10 @Matthew56193629 If Jesus died for your sins, didn't he renege on the deal by living again? It makes no sense that the sins of the world can be bought with just one bad weekend where you still come out alive!

Pierre, You have an incredible opportunity to believe in Jesus Christ for eternal life before you die. I'm praying it happens before it's too late. When you do, send me a text letting me know. You'll have life and peace, and you'll never be the same. Blessings to you and yours. --Tim

@TimOlney10 @Matthew56193629 Your problem is the bible doesn't change. Science is about learning and correcting where we get things wrong. The bible gets many things wrong. First of all is a 6 day creation only ~6000 years ago and a Global Flood ~4500 yrs ago. Both debunked by science.

Yeah, too many relying on "church fathers" and "confessions" (the traditions of men) and not Christ Himself. Why do we need all these human "scholars" to explain Scripture when Scripture is quite clear on the order of events that occur prior to, during, and after salvation? For many, Scripture is not sufficient. @1984_nate @BWSchank @eri89494
Summum@7ummumbonum

This is hilariously confused: “We do not deny that good works have any relation to salvation: For they have the relation of an…antecedent adjunct, fit for obtaining salvation.” —William Ames, Bellarminus Enervatus, book. 6, chap. 6

Uh, let's just take CHRIST and HIS WORD over all that "church history" nonsense that doesn't line up with Christ and His Word. Trust in Christ, not Calvin or all those other mere men who are "church fathers". They're all DEAD and their words are not alive. Jesus Christ is alive forevermore and ONLY His Words are Spirit and Life. He is the Living Word. This isn't hard. Geez.

Brutal questions for Calvinists on judgment day: "Why did you tell people that I didn't die for them?" "Why did you tell people that I didn't love them?" "What was it about 'I am love' that you didn't understand?" Please rethink your doctrines. The truth will set you free.
