@jstretch85 I’m envisioning a central office style / exchange style dual-floor copper krone rails - I’ve seen this myself, easily 6-8m / 20ft tall.

There's a person on GitHub asking why #NetBox won't allow you to create a rack taller than 100U. Several people have asked for photos of this presumably 14ft+ tall rack, and I'm secretly hoping they deliver.

A new v0.56.0 release with lots of goodies! 1️⃣ Interface aliases Yeah, it has been a long time coming, but thanks to a brilliant contribution done by one of our community members Containerlab can now offer human-friendly interface naming in its topology file.

5️⃣ Ready for ARM Soon we will reach the network labbing nirvana with both Nokia and Arista working on ARM images for their SR Linux and cEOS simulators. In anticipation for this we've tuned up our release pipeline to make sure that clab container is built for ARM64 architecture

Thanks to a lot of engineering smarts, splendid design, kind by @BenTheElder and kindnetd by @Itsuugo and contributions from many others it is possible to run an very sophisticated network automation system on a arm64 macOS next to a chrome browser with 50 tabs.

There’s a proposal before Merri-bek City Council to (and I’m paraphrasing here) tax the everliving shit out of landlords’ investment properties that’s gonna be discussed on 12 June and I’m so here for it. This proposal would halve council rates for owner occupiers as well as local businesses. Also lol to all the people with Merri-bek investment properties that don’t even live in the LGA because you can’t even vote in the council election if you’re mad about this, but your renters can. There is little discussion on the role of local councils when it comes to the housing crisis but they have such a huge role to play, particularly when faced with federal and state governments doing SFA about it. We all know and agree that federal tax incentives for landlords are ridiculous, but what many councils don’t realise is that they can directly do something about the injustice. Merri-bek, do the right thing x The full proposal is here: bit.ly/tax_LLs

@nickrusso42518 @knownbill You’re referring to the inclusion of operation in network design consideration. Eg rather than needing excessive config automation, use auto-discovery technologies to reduce the required automation to the absolute minimum.

@knownbill An autonomous, self-correcting system is preferable over one that needs external automation. That said, automating services in an SP is unavoidable and is a good use case. This isn't anti-automation. It's anti-unnecessary-automation.

For 8 years, I've asserted that making automation unnecessary by designing systems that obviate its existence is the ultimate accomplishment. Reading a Google SRE book now that says the same. Especially true in networks. The less automation *has* to do, the better (usually).

I still don’t get how Nightly News sports reports are doing A-League men results and UK Premier League but either not realising or simply ignoring the A-League women finals? Surely by now it must be intentional to not include it… you can’t NOT know that it exists…?
