@IanCutress @googledrive I told them about this nearly two years ago and Google Drive support told me it was a "deliberate feature"

Hey @GoogleDrive, I've found a W11 bug? If I 'delete' a file on the web interface, it moves it to trash. I have no option to bypass trash. On my desktop client, rather than move that file if local, it redownloads it in the GDrive recycle bin. Tough for 140GB files on 80Mbps

Another great video from Monitors Unboxed here. The Ally X uses overdrive and achieves 8.4ms response time suggesting that, indeed, overdriving the Switch 2 LCD could massively boost clarity. Tim's numbers suggest Deck LCD=Switch 1 - ~50% fast vs S2. youtube.com/watch?v=oKFYGv…

@dark1x @Theorist1989 I think a big issue in all of this discussion is people who have no experience using high quality displays assuming the Switch 2 MUST have a good display because it's new.

@Theorist1989 Yes. LCDs suck. They blur to varying degrees without motion blur compensation. That's why CRTs >>>>> all

Damn these people again are going so far to discredit the screen. First off, it gives you a warning, second off you're on a tiny screen up to your face and the nail in the coffin is people have said they notice this in the arcade machines with NEW screens.
John Linneman@dark1x

Evevn crazier numbers on the Switch 2 screen. ...but for those curious and unable to notice it, I have a test for you to try. Download the Taiko no Tatsujin demo - it's free. While playing, try to focus your eyes on the notes as they scroll and you'll see it.

@TFTCentral That's weird, because when I plug it into my DP2.1 UHBR20 supporting Radeon Pro W7800 it reports just 32 Gbps of bandwidth in the 10-bit mode, but when switching to 8-bit it reports 40 Gbps. And if you turn off DSC in the OSD, it won't let you use the 10-bit mode

@Dachsjaeger Yep, YouTube hates film grain. I wonder if that's related to the immense amount of comments about how bad the game supposedly looks. If you've only seen YouTube footage you'd probably think the texture quality is terrible

With modern games it is sad to see how much Youtube even at "4K" absolutely murders their detail levels. Such a shame. Always keep that in mind when watching anything on YT.

@Dachsjaeger Hopefully it is a bug, but thanks for confirming you are also seeing it. Confirms on my end that it wasn't a setup issue with my system

@TimSchiesser That video helped a lot to know what you meant! Thx! I captured the same behaviour here in a side by side video: youtu.be/769a89AAbPw Visibly, it looks like aliasing, but it is leaving a regular pattern. The alias line happens every 20 horizontal pixel lines. Seems like a bug.

Just a PSA to those already playing Star Wars Outlaws. If you find the game soft or blurry, I would recommend changing Lens & Cinematic Effects Quality to Medium or lower (turn off film grain and chromatic aberration too). Just going to medium turns off that imprecise pixel look.

@Dachsjaeger Here is a very quick example I made. First is full resolution, then later I cut to a 300% zoom, first with the setting on Ultra, then on Medium

@Dachsjaeger Not sure what is causing the issue specifically, but Lens & Cinematic Effects on Medium (vs High or Ultra) makes the image way less stable and very... wobbly? in motion

Tim is at it again! Saying negative things about AMD! I won't stand for this guys, I've terminated his contract and blocked him for accessing the channel. Apologies to anyone hurt by his last two videos, I'll make this right by crapping on the 4060 Ti in my next video (again).

@TimSchiesser I'd be interested to know if there are any significant differences between output on the RTX 30 and RTX 40 series. I know there shouldn't be and that would be very unusual, just that the observations between those with RTX 30 and RTX 40 series GPUs seems to differ.

@pcmonitors @TimSchiesser Interested to hear how this goes as well. Is it more tweaks to SDR content within HDR mode or some other actual HDR adjustments?

@TimSchiesser @dark1x @OhPoorPup Tim, could you provide some more details please? At least what is the product name. Content creators like John or me want to capture at HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, 8k 60Hz for example.

@OhPoorPup Sadly, if you dig into the details, it's not good. It captures a max of 4K60 - it just passes through 4K120. It also seems to capture using MJPEG for some reason. It's not at all what I was hoping for. :(

So I'm testing a large flat OLED monitor for review in place of my usual curved monitor and my brain is perceiving it as convex. It's super weird. I don't get this effect when using myTV but this monitor feels as if it's curving outward. Guess I'm just used to curved now?
