Alex Anthopoulos did ANOTHER interview today Here is what he had to say- -There are NO off-limits prospects and the rentals will set the price. If it was for someone with control…there’s no off limits. -There’s ONE player they’d hate to trade but there’s no true off limits. They’ve discussed this recently in the front office. -They want to win this year and also sustain success but they know this core is getting older. They’ve walked away from guys in the past to keep Harris and Drake etc. it’s threading the needle. -The CBA and potential work stoppage will NOT impact his deadline decisions they will play baseball again. -An impact starter is someone he’d trust to start in October. - They need to record 27 outs in Oct game to game and there are many ways to navigate those 27 outs. -A great bullpen is one way or a deep rotation etc -In the post season you map out 27 outs and can do it with openers, 2 inning starts and etc. the dodgers have done it recently. -He was asked if he had anyone besides Sale that he’d trust to make a playoff start and he said they can’t look at it that way they have to look at it as the best group of pitchers they can put together. -AA talked to Robert Suarez and told him he his important to the team and the post season. They want to make sure they get his recovery right and take zero chances so he’s healthy. He told Suarez he can’t get another Suarez. They need to be sure he’s 100%. All scans are great just pain management. -Schwellenbach will have zero impact on the trade deadline simply bc he won’t be pitching in major league game before then. He thinks by early August they’ll know a lot more about him. He is on pace feeling great. -he thought they were getting Kyle Schwarber in 2021 and thought the deal was as good as done and the Nats pulled out. Inner division made it hard. They got Soler instead. - Similar happened with Marte. - some GMs do not care some do. -not worried about the price at the deadline just the quantity. - MAYBE 7 guaranteed sellers right now.

Hurston Waldrep’s velo was down and he was removed after 36 pitches while pitching for Gwinnett yesterday. He’ll be further evaluated. Weiss said it’s concerning any time a pitcher has to be removed. Waldrep had arthroscopic elbow surgery in February
